Oh! and i will post a pic for the gents to see...don't worry!

I echo those comments from Antti....Awesome!... the detail is superb!
the beauty of Imperial...is magic!
Antti, thanks for showing us poor buggers down under...the SOS pics...we cannot fly here and there willy nilly....as we are soooo far away down here! its costs a fortune to get anywhere! ...NOT to mention the missus is having a baby! so...that curtails any flying ANYWHERE....for the moment anyway....
Rick...the scanner is Not what makes you the GOOD twin....its your Immense knowledge and willingness to share it ...that makes you earn brownie points to be the the Good twin....hee hee....

Mr Humber,
Welcome to the GMIC!
A very nice set of medals...i hope you honour him and keep these ...even frame them!
They are in some order...but if you swap the 1939-45 star with the Atlantic star...they will be in perfect order.
Once again a hearty welcome!
Regards
Paul

Hello again Gents,
Further to my posts on my Grandfather, Flt Sgt Clifford Harry Palmer of 547 SQN RAF
He gave me his original minatures today!
I am so pleased! these are of the old style manufacture....the stars are made of the same metal as the full sized ones and have separate rings! Much nicer than modern copies.....they are so garish and bright and are one piece!....
The only thing...is it is missing his France and Germany clasp...BooHoo!
Has ANYONE??? got a period clasp that i can add to complete this set??
I wish to mount them in a Glass/Wooden frame for display with his AG wing and some other pics and momentoes of his service....
Please help!
Also to follow are two groups that i may purchase...what do the gents think??
How much would the WWI 4 place minature bar be worth??
Kind Regards
Paul

Wild Card,
Phew! i am glad there was no offence taken...
As far as the Prinzen dilemma...i am not very well versed in this form of medals and am not sure what to make of them...
Why were they even used? Maybe a thread explaining these will be a useful addition to our knowledge archives.
Maybe a more knowledgeable gent can shed some light on this...
Kind regards
Paul

Wild Card,
I am not sure what you mean...
I was not being sarcastic..please beleive me...i genuinely think you are right with the Prinzen idea...I just felt a bit stupid for not picking up that myself...
As for the ribbons...i was referring to the fact that the Centar medal ribbon was folded over the KDM...i think that the KDM ribbon should cover the Centar medal in order of precedence.
I was just posing another question about the irregularities of the bar...as the Stogie is asking of us...
Regards
Paul

Yes Wild Card...you got it...its a prinzen Centar....of course!
and then why is the Centar ribbon in front of the KDM??

A nice story Mr Wild Card...its good to hear of these stories...its amazing what does turn up over the years...should be even better odds now with the Internet bringing collectors together who would normally be separated by the vast distances in between...
So..did you get the documents?
Kind regards
Paul

Hi Micha,
Leave the bar as it is...these ribbons are original.
What Stogie was saying was...that finding original ribbons for replacement, would be Impossible..But the repro ribbons would be available..
Lovely bar by the way...wanna sell?

Officers Medal bar and ribbon bar
in Germany: Imperial: The Orders, Decorations and Medals of The Imperial German States

Hi chris,
That is a Beautiful bar in superb condition...AND with makers tag!
I think we should pin a Thread that shows these maker tags and gives us an example of the different manufacturing styles of each maker...so we can identify the bars that are not maker tagged...
and yes as RR says...wonder why there is no Hindenberg....???
Now you need a nice case to display this in!
Cheers
Paul
