Hello Graf, everything you say is absolutely true - congratulations that you know them only by photos. I try to keep up to date with the new counterfeits so that I am aware of the market. Unfortunately - the "masters" are getting better, and some good workmanship is difficult to distinguish. now do not make them with soft enamel, and the test with a needle is not a guarantee. so, be careful when buying stars!
Here is a photo with a real and fake 1st class military merit star

100% fake! I know the person in whom he makes them. They can't make crosses, but they make all kinds of stars, which are difficult to distinguish from an inexperienced collector! Be careful!

Hello,
There is a third version of the medal.
The one that ilieff shows is with two faces of the two medals - the avers of the standard medal and the revers of the medal with the inverted crowns.
There is a difference in the writing of "Царство България"/"Kingdom Bulgaria"/, and the positioning of the lion.
The medallion of both medals is the same - a diameter of 19 millimeters
The ribbon is original but has a different size - 25mm, and is folded in German style.0 -

I've just came across this interesting example, sold at ebay.at.
At first, it appears to be a generic cross with missing ribbon. However, when I looked closer, it is a bit different.
The obverse is generic - the usual horizontally positioned crowns and central medallion. However, the reverse is identical to the 'rare' model shown in Prince Romanoff's book.
If my assumption is correct, then we have an example of a third type of this cross or at least a sub-type of either of the known ones. @Petar Keserdzhiev , could you please post an image of the reverse so we can compare?
Thanks,

Hello,
after many years of searching, I managed to get the test version of the medal "For the proclamation of Bulgarian independence in 1908".
There is no information about this option, except for one picture in Prince Romanoff's book.
We assume this is a tried version of P. Télge.
Interestingly, the medal has a ribbon. That means it has been handed to someone.
The ribbon is also different - it is narrower than the standard one.
The dimensions of the cross are the same as the standard medal.0 -

Would it be possible for someone to post in here a couple of sample pages from this book please? I cannot decide whether it`s worth buying it, considering I am not fluent in German.
Hi,the book is worth the price! There are many details that are not available anywhere else!

Hi,
for great regret, King Ferdinad's grandson, Simeon, has sold many possessions to King Ferdinand, as well as many of the orders of King Ferdinand!
He should be very shy, but unfortunately - not so.0 -

FAKE BULGARIAN ORDERS ON THE MARKET
in Central & Eastern European States
Posted
Hi Graf,
I am glad that there are serious places where such topics are discussed. Unfortunately, counterfeits have always been associated with collecting - just a good collector needs to know what and where to buy. Often greed overcomes the reason when you buy something at a very reasonable price.
I am very pleased that you have such a great knowledge of Bulgarian orders.
I will show here the counterfeits I know to protect other collectors from fraud.
I am sorry that a bad name has been created for the market and collectors in Bulgaria. fraudsters are a very small part, but as we say in Bulgaria - a spoonful of tar can ruin a whole bucket of brown.
The hit now are the fake cortes from the kingdom of Bulgaria - several people have specialized and make excellent fakes, but I will release this in another topic.
greetings from Bulgaria
