Hello folks,
I would like to show you my KM em belt buckle. It is complete with leather tab and KM markings. I really love these buckles.

Jody

Very nice textbook example, they don't come much better.
Hi Gordon,
Thank you. I wanted a nice bronze one to go with my silver one.

Do you mean how many Bronze w/o swords went to KM?
best, Sal
Hi Sal,
Yes.

Hi folks,
I would like to share with you my U-boat badge collection (it covers 1918-1957). Let me know what you think.
Regards,
Jody
First up is an Imperial example with the Schott hallmark.

Very nice example and no doubt a 100% original badge. Personally though, I wouldn't believe for a minute it was made by Schwerin. Mis-marked pieces aren't that rare. Interestingly, as these are often attributed to Juncker, Winkler had some Juncker Auxiliary Cruiser Badges which carried the Schwerin mark. Both Berlin firms - perhaps a case of one helping the other out to fill rush orders ?
There was also one of this type around a little while back with a Steinhauer "4" mark.
Hi Gordon,
Thanks for the comment. I have known about this badge for 27 years and I have never doubted it, I thought you might find the hallmark of some interest. To me stuff like this is what makes the hobby fun.

Jody

Hello folks,
I want to show you my cross. I had to have one since so many were awarded to KM personal. I have a question, what percentage of these crosses were awarded to KM personal? It look like most tended to go to the KM, or is that a false assumption?
Thank you,
Jody

Hi folks,
I want to show you this badge. It was obtained in 1980 by my best friend Victor P. I happened to be with him it was purchased (veteran). Well I was able to scan it yesterday and what do you think?
The badge is fire-gilted and notice the balck solder. The badge is not re-stamped with the maker mark (it matches my Schwerin hallmark on my 2nd pattern badge to a T). Does this add to the mystery of who made this badge?
Regards,
Jody

Sadly, I doubt it would be easy to find any further info. Unlike U-Boats where a huge amount of work has been done in compiling databases of crew lists, I don't think anything of the kind exists for the Destroyers. Even organisations like Deutsche Dienststelle would be unlikely to come up with much with just a surname though its worth a try as its an unusual surname in a small branch of the armed forces.
Hi Gordon,
Thank you so much. I figured it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. I wonder if there is a list of all of the winners of the Spanish Cross in Bronze w/out Swords?
It will give my friend and I something to research.
Regards,
Jody
