Hello,
Here is another example that I have (it is part of a Purple Heart Grouping). This is a more common set-up.

Hi Jim,
Thank you and I figured it would be worth about double the offer. I will post my other two clasps later. It is nice to know that the clasp is a difficult one to obtain.

Hello,
Opinion on my US Victory Medal with Aviation Clasp. This is not my field of collecting, but I am starting to get into them. BTW, a local dealer tried to tell me that this is worth no more than $40 ($50 if lucky). I did not believe him.

Hi John,
I love the collection of lead hats in your tin. I have two Princess Mary tins one of them is well polished and the other has most of the gilt finish and some of the contents.

Hello,
Great bar with the Social Welfare Medal. Yes, I have that great book and a couple of my bars are even in it. They are a bear to find mounted.

Hello,
I have found it rather hard to find a War Merit Medal either single mounted or on a medal bar. Here is an example I picked up a while ago and was happy to finally add one to my collection. How many others have mounted War Merit Medals?

Hello folks,
I picked this up a while ago and I have a question. Which maker of U-boat badge is it Zimmermann or Otto Schickle? All four arms of the swastika are completley voided.

Hi Gordon,
The U-boat models are beautiful. I would sure love to purchase one as well. I look forward to any more information on them.
Happy New Year!

I have the same type of badge and I like your example a lot.

Generally reddish brown but I think I recall seeing one in a greenish colour one time. I think its the material rather than the colour itself that is significant.
Hi Gordon,
My cap has more of an orange celluoid strip attached to a piece of zinc metal (the zinc strip is attached to the band and the celluloid strip is on top of that which is inside the stiffener).

Unlike often found in army visor caps, the strip inside this support is not zink or other metal, but thick reddish brown celluloid.
Hi Gordon,
should all of these caps have a reddish brown celluloid, or as I would guess some variation to material.

Hello folks,
I picked this bar up in February of 2008 with a bunch of other stuff from a collection I bought. Would it be safe to say that due to its small size that this ribbon bar is for the KM.
Many Thanks,
Jody

Of course, one shudders to think what that "ordinary police battalion" member was DOING in the East then.
Yes, there is a REALITY to these things of ours. Sometimes the most ... ordinary looking items... represent the worst that man can be-- homicidally "efficient" bureaucrats.
As a First War veteran, he must have worn this literally for only a few months of 1942/43 before updating to his 25 in 1943.
Hi Rick,
Thank you so much. I agree sometimes the simple things can have a lot more meaning-in this case a sinister one.

What are you using for a scanner Jody? Size is no problem with an Epson-- and that's what your images look like. If you can get ones that good of ribbon bars, there should be no problem with medal bars unless it's the settings selected.
I always use 150dpi and 24bit color.
Hi Rick,
I use my friend's scanner and he has an old Cannon. To be honest, this is the only site I can't post on. I have no problems with 3 other web-sites.
No big deal. Thank you for the help and comments.

Hello,
I wanted to share a somewhat rare breast eagle that was given to me back in February 2008. These things are very hard to find now.

Hello folks,
This item does not belong to me but actually to my 10 year old son Liam. It was given to him by a very dear friend. It is a nice non-combatant button-hole mini.
