    1. Hi all here are a few pics of a HG tunic I have just purchaced. I am not a uniform guy but it looks good to me, all original and not a bits put together. Sadly the cufftitle has been removed but you can see how the tunic has been sun bleached. Now I am aware that many Luft tunics are enhanced so to speak.Insignia and ink stamps ect. The ink stamps seem to say 2nd Panzer grenedier regiment 1HG.and the boards are nco PG boards. Heres some pics.I hope you like it, thank you. Pete

    2. Hello all. I have been after a unnumbered BM and Combat service medal to complete two researched groupings I have. Anyway I noticed this on ebay with a few minutes left so I bid $40 and I won it. It has a Combat service medal and a V/japan with it came the award booklet and a picture which is old but It has those black lines so its an image of a photograph albeit old ? the name on the back in freehand seems the same as the booklet. The medals on the picture are a V/Japan, but is the other a Combat service medal? Both medals have new looking ally suspensions. Anyone know his name or read the name on his cap? Do you believe its a low end put together.Any and all comments welcome please cheers. Pete

    3. Hello all and some old friends I see in this section.

What do you think of this helmet SSH39 seller says liner is wartime replaced but there is metal exposure at the back rivet looks recent as there seems no oxidistation? If its period even though replaced I might be interested in purchace. The seller wants $400 is that a ok price if all is period. Pete

    4. Hi all

I have two single awards that I am thinking of getting reasearch on. One is a ORS with 247,+++ serial Number and the other is a Glory111 with a serial number 262,+++ . With them being earlier numbered esp the ORS can you edge your bets and say if it was a bravery or a long service award. I know ultimatley you have to wait and see.Any thoughts would be welcome. Pete

    5. I dont know if this is the right section. The middle of the three transitional helmets I believe could be an Austrian guards helmet simply by the fact it has two holes for a badge. Now in the back of my mind I think I can recall seeing helmets being worn with a badge at the front and I think they were Austrian. Can anyone help me identify if it is, the badge it would have taken. thanks Pete

    7. I am too new to give you a deep seated why I now collect Soviet Awards but first my friend Belaruski is part to blame. I have for a long time collected and do German helmets it has been my passion. But it is so expensive now and then you have your shelfs full where do you go swap one for one in better condition most do,until they have a collection of very high great condition helmets . But I was always different ,the helmets that give me most pleasure are those with battle scars ,have seen combat maybee named, even unit marked ,or even a field post marked, these are rare. The fact Soviet awards can be traced to an individual, his service records and heroics, make it so much more personal and rewarding and has emphasised the things that make me a collector of historical items like these.( Its more the history and the person behind than the item) I would say also I have great respect for the combatants of all sides as now they rest side by side iin my collecting room in peace. Pete
