Here is a nice 3 piece badge for the Belarusian militia in Brest. Note the Brest Fortress device in the centre! If you look closely at the back you will see a street scene 'engraved' that is not repeated on the obverse. Unusual but interesting!

Actually that would make a nice and rare collecting field, German and Austrian pre-war Communist items.

Hi Dave! I think you've hit on the quandry I have. If I buy a damaged item it's left as is, but if I'm responsible for damage ought I not try to put it right?
The difficulty is of course actually 'putting it right'.
perhaps people should show pictures of repaired awards done well!

Ed, I think I have an original combat service medal ribbon that I got in a bag of Soviet things, it's nicely worn, and if you decide to remount the medal, you can have it!

Very nice, and rare, particularly the 27' badge.

If you get it damaged, leave it. But if you break it, it's up to you to fix it!

Just as a guess, I'd presume it was in some sort of trade union building..(probably in Leningrad or Moscow?)

Here's a similar one for the liberation of Brest.

There's a very nice photobook of this battle too (in Russian and Mongolian) but tends to be rather expensive.

Just acquired this one.
Pretty much the same as Bob's, but with a less 'wooly' ribbon.

Not a poster, and not Stalin, but...
Here is a nice 1973 dated Soviet greeting card I picked up on Ebay. I love the imagery of the Red Army badge 'evolving'!

Bob, original Soviet awards are prohibited to be sold, as in Russia. However in Belarus the law is much more strictly applied!
