The lieutenant general which I'm looking for is born about 1812, according to the England 1891 England Census (where his name is Gordon Caulfield):

1) lieutenant colonel John Sheffield Gilbert Ryley;

2) And the lieutenant general Gordon Caulfield.

Is it possible to have easily access to their service records?
