      The lieutenant general which I'm looking for is born about 1812, according to the England 1891 England Census (where his name is Gordon Caulfield):

      I’m conducting a particular research about a British commissioned officer who would have served in India in the second half of 19th century, who would have reached a rank of senior officer (at least), and whose nickname would have been "Great Coffin". That’s all I know (these informations come from family memory on my wife's side)...

       

      On the off chance, could you please help me, or orient me to find the exact identity of this officer (assuming he existed)?
