    1. "GREETINGS & SALUTATIONS!" Although not in the shape of usual chevrons, these discs for Private First Class, Gas Service, 1917-1920, would have been considered chevrons for all practical purposes. Cat%20Scratch.gif Sarge Booker of Tujunga, California (hhbooker2@yahoo.com) Hesitated giving these away to serious chevron collectors as their quality is often so poor and some were eatten by moths, not making them desireable for a collection on display. Had second thoughts about destroying them so the recipient would not be disappointed at their detrioration? catjava.gif

    2. "GREETINGS & SALUTATIONS!" Thirty or more years ago I once illustrated in pen and India ink on 8X11 and 11X17 velumpaper paper about 400% larger than actual size various insignia like these naval rank marks (shoulder boards) showing line and branch commodores and admirals, including those of ADMIRAL OF THE NAVY George Dewey and for FLEET ADMIRALS Halsey, King, Leahy, and Nimitz. Drawings were based on actual rank marks. Oddly enough no one ever came forward to claim the artwork which I've been known to give away to first to ask is first to get free, plus I paid postage and handling too! Let me know what you think of these insignia and add more if you have them. Thanks! cat.gif Sarge Booker of Tujunga, California (hhbooker2@yahoo.com)

    3. "GREETINGS & SALUTATIONS!" Collecting the militaria of the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM (a/k/a North Vietnam) appears to get easier as trade restrictions are relaxed and the former airmen, sailors, and soldiers are in retirement, passing on or already deceased and they or their families sell off their old insignia, medals, uniforms, etc., some even on eBay Auctions, believe it or not? Not sure anyone has of yet produced a well-documented reference book on the D.R.V. insignia? Maybe in B&W, but fully in colour, perhaps? Here are two pilot's qualification wings for 2nd and 3rd Class and an officer's cap badge too! Enjoy! Cat%20Scratch.gif Sarge Booker of Tujunga, California catjava.gif
