Sorry to say both eagles are post war, the top example is somewhat younger that the machine woven type (2nd eagle) that originated from austria 60-late 70's, this eagle has been copied more than once as well so you get fake copies of fake.

Better than words or theories, many thanks for posting these interesting straps, Gary.
However, I didn?t know about later war examples (with the rounded strap ends like in # 7) all made of black cloth. Very interesting !

That clip dates to the early 90's,
That is also about the time I saw this clip (on vhs) as well, there was more on the tape as well a friend at the time bought a SS helmet and dog tag which was pictured in the same video, as I remember it the russians also were digging up munitions and destroying them, will have to ask him actually is he still has that vid.
