Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment

Fighting during continuous enemy artillery and mortar fire in difficult, mobility-restricted, mountainous-forested terrain near the population centers of Ruske and Velka Polyana, Private Klimov advanced forward of the fighting positions and by capably changing firing positions, he suppressed one enemy firing position with accurate machinegun bursts and killed as many as 35 German soldiers, thus permitting the freedom of movement to our advancing small units.

Comrade Klimov is deserving of the Order of Glory III Class.

An undated, abbreviated award card verifies the awarding of a Glory III Class by the 60th Army dated May 20th, 1945 was annulled and substituted for an Order of Glory II Class by Edict of the Supreme Soviet dated March 31st, 1956.

This award card, dated March 18, 1946, lists his assignment in the 4th Ukrainian Front, 60th Army, 9th Independent Battalion, and was subsequently overwritten in 1956 to reflect the awarding of an Order of Glory II Class by an Edict of the Supreme Soviet dated March 31st, 1956 for an Order of Glory III Class awarded by the 60th Army.

Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment

During the penetration of the German defense near Hill 109,0 at the village of Lortsin on 14 January 1945, the Germans attempted to resist our units’ attack with self-propelled guns’ artillery fire. Commanding a squad of “armor-busters,” Junior Sergeant Shokotko personally suppressed one enemy self-propelled gun with his anti-tank rifle, thus weakening the Germans’ firepower and permitting the infantry to rush into the German trenches.

For displaying military skill and bravery, Comrade Shokotko is deserving of the Order of the Patriotic War II Class.

He has displayed courage and heroism in fighting for the Socialist Motherland against the German fascist invaders.

During the capture of the German city of Oppel, Guards rivate Ivan Maksimovich Lutskov destroyed with hand grenades an enemy machinegun crew, thus supporting the advanced of our battalion.

During the capture of a populated area, Guards Private I.M. Lutskov suppressed and destroyed two German vehicles with combat loads and approximately 10 Germans.

Even now Guards Private I.M. Lutskov is bravery fighting the German fascist fiends in their forsaken lair.
