    1. Can anyone confirm the text provided via Google Translate? I know that sometimes it gets close, but is a little off... "Court Opening Commemoration" 1930 "Violet Club" Also, why do they use partial Latin script on some of their medals?
    2. That's fantastic. Thanks so much for taking the time to ID this pin. It came with a bunch of military effects, so I assumed it was military related. I thought there was some aviation connection, and thought the bottom portion was a torpedo:) I guess sometimes the eyes seems what the eye wants to see....
    3. I've scoured the web, and not been able to find anything remotely similar to this insignia. I'm posting it in the Japanese militaria section, because it was part of a lot of Japanese items when I acquired it. Any help with an ID would be greatly appreciated!
    4. Greetings All, I'm having a hard time figuring out what this medal is. I know little about it, other than it's heavy, die stamped, and made of Silver by Shobido of Osaka. Google translate is showing "Violet Club" on the reverse bottom text, but is not giving me anything for the top text. Also, what would "L.T.C." mean on the obverse? Any help positively ID'ing this would be greatly appreciated!
    5. Could the second and third medals from top to bottom be the China WWII Service Medal (the kind issued to AVG pilots) and the U.S. Navy Cross?
    6. Does anyone know about the remaining medals? Would better pictures help, in at least gathering the dates and or translation? I'm particularly interested in the two that appears to have military officers on the front, and the couple that appear to be very old on the bottom half of photos #5 and #6 above. Thanks in advance!
    7. I must admit I'm a little embarrassed I didn't find more on the Medals of Asia site after spending so much time there. I appreciate the medal ID's and have had a great time reading more about them online. I love the quality and variety of these Japanese medals.
    8. Wow. I can't thank you enough, JapanX ! I feel bit foolish for not finding those first medals on the MedalsofAsia site, but am very grateful for you pointing them out to me!
    9. Greetings, I'm new to the forum, but am very grateful for this resource. I recently purchased a large collection of Japanese medals and have been able to identify dozens of them here thanks to the efforts of others over the years. I also found a few on the "Medals of Asia" site as well. Most of the medals in this collection seem to be from the early 1900's, while a few are earlier, and a couple later. I hope it's ok I'm posting the medals I was unable to identify here for those more knowledgeable than myself to take a look at and possibly assist in the identification. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have taken close up photos of each of the medals, but didn't want to post too many pictures here, so if anyone needs better/closer pics, just let me know and I'll post them.
