Hallo Christophe,

I took these photos some weeks ago. The place I am not allowed to tell. Unfortunately some collectors would risk their live if they would go there. Other people would have the problem to find their bits and pieces. There are bombs, mines etc. everywhere. Normally I can visit all the places on my own. In this case some people accompanied me to make sure that I stay alive.The place is in Germany.

Sorry for that answer but I hope that you can understand it.

Hello, I think this problem is too serious to end up with political phrases or talk about history. Now we are at the beginning of a new Cold War. This one can be a very nasty one. So you can stop your discussions and start thinking about the things which will happen in future.

This was a tracked Rocket launcher

The soviets used to build these models with any material they could get. Cassis of a Sov. vehicle and some metall and you have got a nice model.(Handmade)

For training GSFG used small vehicle models. Everybody knows this fact. Now I have found models of enemy vehicles in 1:1 size. Unfortunately in bad condition but very impressive so I left them where they are.

As far as it is known today there were nukes in this area. So if... do`nt think about this.

Several days ago again some Katjushas were found. They were complete and still in working condition. Now I have to find out which place they were taken to and what will happen to them. I will try to get one or two of this beauties for my "heavy metall " collection.

i did not expect that this Question causes so many problems.

The F 96 leads through the town of Gransee in Brandenburg. Near the town there was a large Soviet depot.

On 14. Aug.1977 there was a desaster in Dannenwalde. Probably caused by a thunderstorm because the Soviets had stored some nasty things in the wrong way. Some people said that it was sabotage. The reason for the desaster wii be kept secret untill 2017. We cannot wait until that date. The Quiz has to go on before that. Please answer my question before 2017 or better before tomorrow.

I know that it might not have been correct. But: 1. I did not know wether they had a weapon or not.

2. I was the only person around (alone and they were two trained soldiers) 3. it was a military area ( I had permission to be there but nobody knew that exept the CO) 4. I did not speak their language .

I do not know wether you know the live of a normal soldier in GDR in 1989. Some very bad things happened.

I still think that my reaction was correct in this case.

I will try my best to post photographs. (I will ask my son to do it on the weekend because with computers I am an idiot)

In 1977 wooden coffins in GDR were made by carpenters. The only people who could handle zinc were plumbers. I don`t want to explain in the Forum why in certain cases you have to use coffins made of zinc instead of wood.

With this question I do not want to hurt anybody`s feelings. It is a very serious question. The incident

could have changed Europes history or even history of mankind.

The soviet army was holding a certain stock of coffins made of zinc. Because the had not enough the plumbers in the area of Dannenwalde had to produce some more.

Thank you very much for the information. Ihave been in the camps a lot of times. I have not seen clothes with such a large stamp on a place where it was to bee seen at first sight. Is it possible that it was for prison use ?

Don`t be surprised. Nobody wants others to know that he was a party member. During DDR times you had to be a member of the party when you wanted to have success. Studying at a university was nearly impossible without the little red book.There is a reason why it is said "this is your most important document". Unfortunately I have problems to post pictures. So I cannot show you the other party documents like application form etc.
