Can anyone identify these odd combination of symbols: crown, cannon, fleur de lys, rose, hippopotamus (?), thistle, clover, anchor? It's made on silver dating to 1914. With "Liberty" on a banner. Could it be Colonial?
Thank you
This military crest is on silver dating to 1876 and appears to be 3 towers. The engraving is very worn but "Regt." is still readable.
Could it be associated with Northumbria or Newcastle upon Tyne?
Thank you
This Egypt battle honour crest (sphinx and number 3) is on a silver dinner fork, made by Harrison Brothers & Howson, in Birmingham 1899.
I'm guessing it's either 3rd Regiment of Foot Guards (Scots Guards) or 3rd (Kent) Regiment of Foot, 'The Buffs'. Both received this battle honour. Or could it refer to a 3rd Battalion of another regiment? I think about 31 regiments had the Egypt honour.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
