    1. Gents,

The latest adition to my collection of DDR General Officers uniforms. After a week of effort searching the main post office I ended up at Hungarian Customs yesterday to pick up the actual parcel. It was worth the effort. The uniform is comprised of a Generals ooficers Jack shirt and tie, tunic (complete with awards), trouser, and peaked cap. I'll post pictures of the shirt first. There are special thin shoulder boards and this rank stars for these boards, to make wear under the tunic more comfortable, which did not come with the uniform.

      nice tunic

    2. My camo uniform is actually the first East German camo pattern from the 50's used by the KVP. I have two different shades of the same pattern. One of my tops is designed as the Russian WWII style with the large hood and face veil. Here is another photo. This early style of camo is very hard to find but does turn up on ebay.de from time to time, do a search for KVP . It is expensive stuff though. A friend got this top a market in Frankfurt for an extemely nice price. It has a larfe hole in the side at the neck. It is covered in this photo.

      My NVA collection

    3. Alex,

You have an enlisted man's uniform with an officers set of shoulderboards. The U1 indicates the tunic was made in the first quarter of 1978 and looks as though it was never issued. The k, for klein, indicates a small sized tunic and the 48 indicates a size of US. 38 and European 96. It is a nice tunic for a start. Because of the unused state I would suggest that you get low ranking enlisted man's boards to complete it.

      Regards,

      Gordon

      :D Thankyou
