    1. Hello. I am new to this site. Along with other members across my extended family, we are trying to locate lost artifacts that once belonged to our ancestor Maurice Shea (born 1794) who fought at the battle of waterloo with the 73rd regiment of foot. In particular we are trying to track down his waterloo medal and any information about the medal or any other documents/artifacts of his would be greatly appreciated. I cannot find Maurice Shea on the Royal Mint Waterloo medal roll interestingly. Perhaps he is listed somewhere else. Perhaps he was not given an official medal? We know he was at Waterloo and he had a medal with his name as of an interview in 1889 (I may be off a year or two from memory). I have also seen some archives of two renamed medals, one sold in 2004 and one in 2012, both in the UK. They do not seem to be his original medal (based on documents we have) but we would appreciate help tracking down anything that may have been his or that will lead us in the right direction. I have been searching every medal/antique auction house online that I can. Any other suggestions of how to track down these medals or any artifacts from his extensive military career would be appreciated.
