Yes, it's Duke of Wellingtons Regiment - an Officers Service Dress collar dog in bronzed finish
Thanks Leigh. Sorry for delay in responding. Would you also happen to know what sort of timeline?

Can anyone advise with regard to this badge? I assume it to be related to the Duke of Wellington's (West Riding) Regiment. I know that the device of elephant was used as a collar badge in the past but, the illustration that I have seen are without the scroll and legend "The West Riding". There are 3 lugs on back of badge.

First my apologies if I have posted this to the wrong section - my defence is age and senility. Does anyone have any idea as to the unit to which this cap belonged?

I think you'd be better off asking in one of the German sections. This area is about the PSR of Albania!
Yes - I totally agree. Bit of a "snafu" on the old mental awareness front I'm afraid. Confusion and senility on my part. If I eventually manage to navigate this site will do as you suggest.

Does anyone have any idea as to the correct colour for the Czech helmet worn by this Wehrmacht volunteer unit? Did it have a standard Czech paint finish or was it re-painted?
In the book by Drobiazko & Karashchuk on the Russian Liberation Army, the artwork showing a member of the formation in pre-Wehrmacht uniform seems to represent the helmet colour as a light-brown. Don't know if this is just my interpretation of the rendering of the artwork or if in fact the hue differs from the Czech finish.
Would appreciate any feedback on this.

UNKNOWN CLOTH INSIGNIA
in France
Posted
First of all let me apologise for my scant knowledge with regards to French insignia. I recently bought an auction lot containing a large number of pieces of cloth insignia which I have been able to identify as Colonial Infantry Marine.
Amongst the said lot was this item - see scan - which has me somewhat nonplussed. Is it in fact a military badge or a tourist piece (i.e. "I have been to Morocco"!!!!).
If anyone can shed light upon this I would be most grateful.
