Thought I would throw in a close-up photo of the badge!

Zeppelin air ships were a large part of the German attempt to control the air war in WW1. They were used to bomb London and HMAS Sydney was attacked by one. This is the Pilot's badge for a Zeppelin crew.

Very interesting!? It appears to Japanese, with the "Mum" in the center. But I think it was hand made. The Japanese medals I've seen are of Good high quality. Maybe a personal locket?

So from what I am understanding, the size of the one Cool posted at 42mm is correct for the early versions. But Mr. Williamson what do you mean by, the other features are more telling?

My pick would be a B-17G Flying Fortress! And if I could really go out on a limb...add two escort fighters, a P-47 and a P-51.

I'm no expert on crosses, and the ring probably has a story of it's own, but it looks to be a nice cross Cool. Maybe Mr. Williamson will give you his opinion on this one?

No, real Kreigs flags do not glow! As a rule for these flags they will have 6 rows of stitching on the long sides, 8 rows of stitching on the fly end. Should also have the natural bond edge on the long sides (or at least one side) And hemp rope.
