Yes, the screw plate resembles a 1st class screw plate extremely well, but as I recall it was not entirely the same as my 1st class screw plate. I can make a side by side photo next week. But, indeed it's quite a coincidence... Maybe all 3rd class stars in that range got issued with this type of screw plate?
Thanks for your kind words :-) Invite me in Belgrade for a beer, so we can talk about Partizan stars! lol
Kind regards,

It's interesting to see that two out of those three stars were awarded to Soviet recipients.Does that replacement screw plate look like the one for the Soviet 1st class? I ask because we already saw two stars like that in this topic, both awarded to Soviets, numbers 2376 and 2394 - pretty close to 2480.
#2376 LINK
#2394 LINKOh, before I forgot. I cannot read cyrillian. How do you know a star was offered to a Sovjet serviceman?

Hi,
Let's suppose most of the 3rd class IKOM stars would be recent fakes... Then, shouldn't we rather expect the 'silver hallmarks' be part of the mold, and be identically positioned the same on every copy? It would be a lot faster and easier, and wouldn't require these to be done manually at the end of the production process?
Unless they would remake them the very same way as the 'originals', being literally 'later productions'?

How can one see whether it's solid gold, whether it is gilted?

I've finally bought my first 3rd class star of this order (IKOM, Yugoslav made type). The hallmarks look good under the magnifier. It looks even more beautiful in my hands.
Very nice, Mario! Congrats

Yes sir, it is a box for an Star with pin.
Does anyone know how much an honest price would be? I can propose the seller this price and buy it in that condition, alas :-(
PM's with suggestions are welcome.

Hi friends,
I've recenty bought this empty Partizan Star box on Ebay which was in perfect condition...
When I got it, it was just packed in a foamed envelope (not in a box), and was wrapped in some paper. Dispite all that, the box was severly damaged :-(( I contacted the seller and he immediately refunded all my money. As I think these boxes are quite rare, I proposed to check what the remaining collectible value is, and propose him this price. Up to the seller to agree or not. Else I will send it back.
As you can see, ALL the seams on the box has ripped and split...It must have been crushed in the mail under the weight of all the other packages and letters... It's such a shame as I'm sure this is rare: a 2nd class silver IKOM star is rare... Not to mention it's box in perfect condition... :((
What would be the remaining value of the sale price? 25%??
Kind regards,
Gerd V

Hi,
what makers had their 'golden 1st class version' made in massive golden? And what maker did them silver with gold plated?
How can one identify if it's massive gold or gilted?
Kind regards,
Gerd V

Based in the LAME BOOK, 2nd class is made by bronze and silver plated. In reality, some people say that is and another version of 2nd class made by SOLID SILVER, but I proof it in a JEWELRY SHOP and it is made by bronze with a VERY STRONG SILVER LAYERED.
Based in the LAME BOOK, 3rd class is made by bronze.
HAPPY COLLECTING MY FRIEND.

There is indeed some controversy on this type... But the concensus is that it's good IMO.
