The die flaws on the original shields are present on your one....nice shield..... . If possible could you post scans of the shield and the cloth. Also the reverse of the shield as well...

I remember reading in the book:-
A Collectors Guide To THIRD REICH MILITARIA by Mr. Robin Lumsden.
In the picture provided by nesredep the object looks to be in BRASS
Kevin in Deva.
Possible...or it's an original that's been polished up. As I say, very difficult to tell with these pics.
Nes....with your permission, I'll start a thread on another forum and we'll see what the verdict is over there. Problem is, unless the shield is posted like this one below, it's a tough one to call. Gut reaction is, it's a copy.....

I think it would help if we could see a decent scan of the shield without the glare. The shield in the link I pasted may not be the same as your's.

Ok.Thanks for comment. Please explain for us.

Hi Nesredep......Pics aren't great but I'm assuming it's the same as this type in the link. The J in 'KRYMSKAJA' tend to give this one away but if possible post better head on scans.

Very soft detail on the shield. I've seen this type in solid brass which didn't exist. This looks to be that type. Maybe Nesredep could tell us what the shield's made from.

Cheers Simon....A nice Doc and one I'd like to own, but as you say, a bit pricey, especially in this climate.

I just wish I could find one...here's a Narvik I've never posted. Mint, but the I think the Zinc's absorbing the Gilt wash.
