I'll post a couple of my wristwatches in the next few days. One has an original strap and the other has a strap I pinched off an old 60/70's watch.

Both shields look like good originals.

Hi Joe....I've had a search through my books as well and can't find any info on this emblem. As you and Martin have said, possibly U-Boat (Hogels book as good as it is, isn't a complete work) or from a surface vessel unit.

Hi Andreas..interesting piece. Not the emblem Hogel show's in his book for U-29. That's not to say it isn't period, any providence on this one and can we see a bigger pic or scan of the emblem.

Nice badges....definitely wartime period.
Here's my example in gilded tombak so I'm assuming this is also pre 1945.

Thanks Erik...I think you're right. Possibly safer with the second type but I think I'll go for the 3 prong version mainly because it's retained its gilt finish... Interested to know what the base metal is on this one.
Nice example BTW...

Hi Guys....I'm on the hunt for a nice original (Pre 45) Watch Officers badge. I've found a couple, the best one still retaining the gilt finish has 3 prongs. Question is, is this one wartime produced. Or is the second one I've posted a better example.
Thanks in advance.....Peter

Original army backed Zinc shield. Attributed to the firm of Juncker
Hope that helps...
Just to add...it would be worth looking at the cloth and the back of the shield as well to see if any of the components have been replaced.

Yes, lovely grouping
