Finally I've got a tropical army breast eagle, out of the dealers wallet and into my hands a couple of weeks ago
(and the right price when I see what is being asked for these!)

Thanks Jaques, and a new piece of information that I didn't know about. Has this been talked about before?
Regards,
Pete (sleeping soundly)

Thanks for the reply Richard. I agree, its a bronze.
After a few days checking the forums, I just found out that it would seem that this is an unmarked L/18 B.H. Mayer (not so easy to find illustrations of this maker), so I presume private purchase piece.
There was a silver L/18 on Detlev's update yesterday and the reverse of one shown by Jaques (I was hoping for him to put an oar in here) on WA some time ago. Still it would be nice to get this confirmed to put me completely at ease.
Regards,
Pete

Hinge.
Sorry I only have a flatbed scanner.
The cross is heavily vaulted and the hook of the flattened type.
thanks,

A find today with a money back guaranty.
(A) is it real? I hope so, (B) is it a Deumer? and © is this an issue type or private purchase?
The pin seems to have been refastened to the hinge barrel at some time in the past, although it looks the same age as the cross, and the top edge of the pin quite crudly struck off with a file at an angle.
As an afterthought could it be a gold? Or where the bronze ones lacquered?
Please answer question (A) first!!!!
Regards,
Pete

Well all I can say that there have been quite a few on ebay over the last few weeks, all with prong fittings.
