The MF could just stand for Metal Fabrik (spelling) and the P for Posen, as in WMF which if I remember correctly stands for W?rttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik.

Hi Jos, I thought that it was excepted knowledge that these were post war adaptions by eastern block countrys, or am I wrong? But then I always bow to your knowledge on these subjects.

That "stain" looks very much like the effect you would get when something has been acid tested for gold or silver.

Thanks for the info Rick. My trusty Black Widow scanner has expired, and I'm using a rubbish one. What was yours again?
I think you are right on the name Gerd. Heres a close up anyway
Any ideas what K.B.A.G. means? Oh yes and its 55mm in dia. and magnetic. A big badge, or whatever it is.

Reverse. It is dated (in ink?) 31.12.17. with a name. Plus the letters K. B. A. G. Ser. 1. Nr. 09731. manufacturer C.E. Juncker Berlin.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Regards.

Unfortunatly I have just found out that the West France badge illustrated above, will produce an excellent grey line when rubbed on paper, i.e you can write with it!!!!
It don't bend, but I am now of the opinion that it is bent!!!
Any positive posts extreemly welcome, as in the deal that I did, this gave that extra bonus.
Please confirm and it will be posted in the fakes thread.

I too believe that this badge is from the period (thanks Bob) and although I cannot agre 100% that it has anything to do with VW, it is certainly something to do with gliders made of aluminium (perhaps) than wood and canvas.

I saw this on the WA site, it looks OK to me, but I thought it was a tad expensive.

Thanks for the input Gordon.
If right, this makes the recent deal OK. The only other thing I can't make out is whether it is a silver or bronze badge. In some lights it appears to have a very thin bronze wash, especially on the reverse.
Will you be at the Motor Cycle Museum militaria fair tomorrow? Or anyone?

Pete

Picked this up in a deal the other day.
Corrosion has attacked the left wing tip, but a nice example nevertheless.

I picked these two up in a deal the other day. I know that the Norway badge is original, but the pin was missing and the previous owner,
for some strange reason, had one attached. The other (West France) looks very good, but I have never seen one illustrated with a knurled pin. It also has a strange maker mark. Opinions?

Looks like a piece of inexpensive ladies jewelery from the 1930's. (A broach)

BW = Bekleidungswerke which translates as clothing works, not the particular concentration camp, even though they may have been made there.
