They are creeping up though, I find myself being outbid on ebay more often now, but who cares, there are still thousands of different ones out there.
Gone are the days when you could pick up a good handful of these when you couldn't find that one good piece you were after at a fair, and wanted to go back with something.

As there seem to be only three Gau/Ort marked badges, I wonder if they found that making different reverse dies too expensive and just went with the simple NSDAP marked type. One size fits all. But then why does there seem to be even less of this type around. Any evidence of a date in your Mitglied book Don?
Robert I would say yours has been in a fire, hence the crazing and missing pin. Dug out of the rubble!

Pete

I presume Saaz is a place, it says SJ on the flag. Saaz Youth?
Yes I was lucky with the oft faked one, I almost got bitten once, but the vendors photos were good and you could see the lack of quality ( I don't think he knew) It appears to be cupal (thin sheet copper on an aluminium core)
I see someone snagged this from WA site, so I'll post it first:-
"BDM Sporttag 1936 Obergau 18 Franken"

I'm not too sure if this belongs here, as Austria wasn't taken over yet.
