Here are four of mine. I've never yet been able to get my head around the things to look for in these shields. Plus my...........errrrrrr......memory you know. No 1:-

I've improved your pic slightly, notice that the dirt/grubbiness seems somewhat forced.

Well here's mine for comparison. They are a little grubby to say the least, but it is consistent grub. Note that this General had an extra wing added to his existing collar patches upon promotion (the cheapskate!)

This one is printed and I'm pretty sure that this was made as a walking stick badge.

Some embroidered ones, all unfortunatly with their pins clipped and holes drilled in them, probably for mounting on a for walking stick.

No idea, but it could also be the 25th. aniversary or years of membership of something that started in 1900.

OK thanks, so more than likely its "old stock" or post war. It was brought back from Spain by a friend who was working on the "Battle of Britain" film.

Is this a civil war period badge, or possibly a later sqadron distinctive? Size 28mm.

Can anybody tell me, from this pic. If this badge is any good, and is it worth 50 Euro? Only two days to go.
Thanks,

Thanks Don,
I first thought it was an eagle, so something air related perhaps, but then saw it was a seagull..... Still a pretty badge, and at least the right period.

Shown with a party badge to give an indication of size.
