    1. Hello Stefan Hello Christian

the medal was instituted in 1955 as the text says for "merits in fullfilling the duty and response which helps to establish friendly relationship in between the Federative National Republik Jugoslavia and other states"

As the name of the Republich changed in 1963 so the inscription on the medal changed too and it from then on says "Socialist Federative Republic Jugoslavia".

The medal was awarded from the beginning up to 1985 only 845 times mostly to administrativ-technical personel of foreign delegations visiting the country

Your variant (badly for you) is the SFRJ version thus post 1963, the FNRJ is VERY VERY rare and hard to find, the price is also almost 10 times higher thus in the 400-500 EUR region.

The medals have been made of tombac and then silvered and was made in Zagrb by IKOM.

      Best regards

      Milan

Thank you for the detailed informations, Milan!

Your variant (badly for you) is the SFRJ version[...]

It makes no difference to me! I collect orders for pleasure... :D

P.S. Can you please help me with the ZBOR medal?:lol:

    2. Very interesting picture Stefan! I also have few private pictures from Russian POWs in my collection. It's really sad to see a young soldier being in these places. What also make this picture interesting is that you can also see what seems to be a Russian HiWi (Hilfswilliger) who is watching the captured Soviet POWs.

Really? HiWi? I thought that he is from RAD. The uniform is quite unusual for a "Frontsoldat", isn?t it! And the cap badge is a typical Wehrmacht-cockade.

    3. Lieber Stefan,

many thanks for sharing the scans of that rare medal with us  .

Do you have any further informations about that medal - who got it, for which deeds, etc. ?

      Liebe Gr??e

      Christian

Christian, as always with Yugoslav medals - nur sp?rliche Informationen! :banger:

My only resource is Nenad?s book: Yugoslavia Army Insignia & Decorations 1918 - 1990

All I know is that there were also two types, FNRJ and SFRJ.
