Hello all,
searching for Information about Korvettenkapitän der Kriegsmarine Albrecht Boit....especially 3 Points:
1. full list of his Awards - I know from ww1 EK2 + EK1 and from ww2 clasps for EK2 +EK1 and the german cross in Gold but there must be more....
2. for what did he get his DKiG (german cross in Gold)
3. as I know he was killed in Action in January 1945 - how and where ?
thanks for all Information!!!

Stogie in my eyes this bar is complete crap.... devices on ribbons that make no sense and all the ribbons together on one bar make no sense at all too.... in the best case it could be a second row (but I don`t think so) but even then the direction of the ribbon makes no sense with for example a Siam order between a colonial medal and a China medal....have seen a lot of weired original ones but I think this one is not a good one.

I see no problem generally....many people served in china as volunteers but not long enough in the army to get a long service medal....and for what he has got the Hindenburg - only god knows....some days in ww1 would have been enough to get it....of course a photo of the bar would help ;-)

the battle clasp is a full size version for the big medal bar not for the ribbon bar.... would like to see the back of the bar too

hmmmm.... it looks really odd because N°4 + 5 should then be some kind of long service award (but without a eagle device as I can see) and the crown order medal , so the two ribbons must be one in dark blue and one in cornflower blue but the difference between them is too much for two blue colour types in my eyes.... a bit mysterious

Dave , do you have a date of this photo ? What rank does he have at the time of the photo?

to compare the eyes , the ears , everything..... unfortunately I can`t find a photo of him in younger years on the net .... someone has a good one?

he was born 1900 , wanted to serve in the navy but they did not take him because of his glasses....he ended then in a bavarian infantery regiment as officers aspirant....but as far as I now know he did not come into action anymore.....

Hello all,
today I got together with a huge lot of photos one that seems to be interesting but raises some questions also.....
It is a original old private photo postcard from ww1 of the later Reichsführer SS Heinrich Himmler as a young soldier together with 2 comrades ath the front!!! I have seen a photo of Himmler as young soldier before so I am shure that it is him , additional on the reverse he has written by his own hand "Herzliche Grüße..... dein Onkel Heinrich"
As this is absolutely not my field of collecting I want to put this one in the for sale box but of course I want to be shure of it 100% , so please help me with some answers , if you like with email or pm
1. does anyone know Himmlers handwriting as a young man to compare it with mine...
2. general question , is there a interest by collectors in these "early day photos" of the later 3.Reich chiefs ???
3. of course , what price can be asked for such a photo??? I have absolutely no clue and don`t want to make fantasy prices.....
I will add a scan of the card tonight to this post....
thanks in advance for all answers and help

David , it is for 2 decorations. In Schaumburg-Lippe some awards / orders had the same ribbon colours (as in most other states and duchies too...) - in this case here there are some possible combinations and we will never know for shure...

For my edification, why is the Prussian Officer DA a 25 year award? Could it have been for a shorter length of service?
Claudio is of course right - there was only one long service award for officers in Prussia , for 25 years
Very nice bar Claudio !!!
