i compared the above core with two sy & wagner cores today, and i must say that they are extremely similar. good job!

however,there is a minute variance in size to the crown and 'w'. the crown is a bit larger and the 'w' is a bit smaller on the above cross..

thats the trouble with these molds off do's day's.

somthimes we must juse a correkter term ,,,,its a SW type crown and core.

after i seen the ek2 1870 small 7 casted copy ,,,,,

better don't look for a deeper sense, there isn't. Also my EK is a jeweler's work, not casted and not from a mint, made in limited numbers on special ( in my opinion private) order.

There are some other EK-crowns, which are really different from the Prussian crown, like this-one. Here should be made an investigation, what the manufacturer had in mind.

It's not magnetic, three parts, marked 925, weight 21 gr. , size 43.3 mm

It's quite similar to the piece shown by Privitera on page 180, except it is the 1st. class

only i wood expekt high profile markings on the back ,,,such a extrodenary ek woodent be made by some low profile juweler.

it certainly seems as though the plate behind the hinge was added so that it could be applied flat (sturdier) and so that the pin would remain paralell with the cross. the pin opens to about 40 degrees.

all in all, a nice cross--someone spent a little bit of extra time with it by detailing it a bit!

the pin is a repaird pin system ,,,(1920-30)

Well-this is everything but not a typical "KO"! Doesn't matter what's stamped under the catch,the pin is wrong for a KO.So-im my oppinion we've got a heavy damaged "KO" with a replaced pin. Can't tell the scratchings are old or not.....

infakt the whole setup,,,frame ,pin system is not like 1914 type at all..

more 1939 ,,,but to bad to be original in my upiniun,,,

jou cant seriusly take these crosses fore wreal,,,on every schow these things are left behind,,

jou schuld leave them to in the future..

they are a bad investement...

hope this may help was given from a ww2 ek1 holder his ww2 ek1,which had a hole drilled in the top arm,

he said it was done by himself, simply so he could pin it to a wood beam in his house, so he could look at it i am sure many ww1 and ww2 vets did the same thing,

pin uncnown,,, hinge more 1939 type ,,but to small,,,

the kwality is very bad and has a ugly look to it

so it can be a example off a verry ugly production off some kind off balloon maker ,,,,

but mostley forgers are tend to make this kind ugly types.....(((.and I seen a lot off them)))

until there's no proof off other examples and also retraceable proof off some kind off maker ,,,,

but then again the W is not correkt also the 1914 makes no cence

so it cant be a dof

,pin system is not what i wud expect from a period ek...

but I can be wrong on this,,,,,stranger things appeard in the past
