    1. Ah, ok, so with device colours, you mean those eichels, i know what you mean know.

About the different types, could the following been worn by kusten units?

      - Rifle and machine guns, would be obvious that they are for kusten units to.

      - Light AA

Yes they can used, but is very rare to see pictures of KA men with the lanyard. I have one but only can see the blue cord without any device.

    2. Depending of the color of the cord (blue or blue and aluminium) , the color of the device (black, silver or gold) and the kind of device, you have the four grades of each branch.

      - Devices colors: 1st grade black, 2nd silver, 3rd gilt and 4th gilt with the medallion (as mine).

      - Rifle and machine gun - blue cord with circular groove devices.

      - Light AA - blue cord with a winged shell device.

      - Chief gun crews - blue and aluminium cord with winged shell device.

      - Torpedo gunner - blue and aluminium cord with torpedo device.

      I hope this is clear.

    3. As meyar has said the edelweiss was the traditional cap badge for the U-124, but many other sailors used it. After the sunk of the KM destroyers in Narvik, the crews of the ships fight in land with the mountain troops, and these gave to the KM sailors their caps badges as a gift. So after that many of them mantein the badge in their caps as a war emblem.

This model of edelweiss I only have seen in an officer cap that has Bill Shea saoem years ago. The usual badge is the big one.

    4. Hello all, some time out of this topic.

de ruiter, please show as some more details of your M42 officer cap, and the star fish insigne. this one was used in KA units in Holland, Belgium and France, and is so difficult to find now days.

Meyer, nice worn cap, it show a lot of war.

I have just found in Denmark a model 43 mint tunic without the emblems. I think this is the rarest tunic of the KA. This is the 3rd time I have seen one. As soon as I have it I will show you.

      Regards from Spain.

    5. Hello all, our friend Jasper (meyer) has asked me about the eagles that were used by junior NCOs a sailors with the collani or the officer eagles used in the peajackets.

In the first you have differents models and materials, bevo, machine cotton enbroidered, hand embroidered celleon , ... so you have many different eagles, with different makers. the officer ones, in hand embroidered gold wire or celleon, as many models as tunic makers and embroiderers.

To distinguish original from fakes, check the material, the back side, the finish, ..., and the experience to have look in your hands as many as you can.

      I hope this helps.

Some examples for NCO and sailors.

    6. :Cat-Scratch: Ahhhhhh. Are there name labels on any of those officers' jackets? :catjava:

Rick most of them are named. The official frock coat has the label from the Ofizierkleiderkasse of Wilhemshaven, with the name ?Reg. Rat Dr. M?ller? and the date ?22.11.38?.M?ller. Now I have only this picture of other tunic (Mecanic Oberleutnant), I hope you can find him. Next time I move the uniforms I will check the other labels.

      Thanks for all.
