    1. Sorry, but I can't get a better picture. It only becomes a large blur. There is definitely a cypher and there may be a pip? Thanks for the help, Ed
    2. There is also the original medal bar box to a Leipzig makers address. He may have been from Leipzig or near by? ~Ed
    3. I do have this photo. He is pictured here with his son. 1942? It is the same ribbon bar with a WWII KVK. I know it is hard to tell in the photos but he has cyphers on his boards. A Doctor? ~Ed
    4. I have one final question. Did the Third Reich long service awards count WWI as double?. Thanks, Ed
    5. Hello, Would this officer have joined the service 1897 or earlier by the 25 yr. Saxon long service? 1897-1914 = 17 + 8 for double time during war years. ~Ed
    6. Thank you for the replies. It looks like he joined the sevice on 18-8-14 and was discharged on 12-2-18 with malaria ( perm. unfit for trop. service) after serving in both East African campaigns. ( 20-1-1916 to 22-2-1917) and (18-6-1917 to 25-12-1917) ~ Ed
    7. Hello, I have the paper work and medals for a member of the 7th S.A. Inf. B Coy. It list him as being "awarded one red , two blue cheverons.". What does this mean ? Thanks, Ed
    8. Both Saxon Orders are Scharffennbergs. The Henry is unmarked and the Albrect is marked 's' on the lower cross arm. The DOA is 1 piece. ~Ed
    9. I have a question on the St. Henry Medals and Orders. 1. Was the gold medal a second award of the silver ( 2 acts of bravery)? 2. Was it nessecary to with the Knights Cross before the Commander 2nd? ~Ed Maroli
    10. I assume not a Lt. Col. to Col. by the lack of other awards and only the 25 year faithful service. His wartime(WWI) service only counting double towards the Saxon long service? Thanks again ~Ed Maroli
    11. First off I would like to say hello to all the members. I was wondering if it was possible to research this saxon bar?. The 25 year long service would put him born no later than 1880? And the 25 year faithful service would put him still alive around 1939-40? Somewhere between a major to colonel? Thanks, Ed Maroli
