    1. I know this shop in Stockholm with many fakes soviet items

Maybee there is a shop in Stockholm Sweden witch offers fakes (?) like this but this item was for sale on Swedish Tradera (Ebay) - not sold. :-) The seller also had some older russian medals that he called fakes for sale - sold for 7 - 45 $. Maybe he offered fakes to sell one expensive fake? The NKVD Badge would be wery rare and expensive if it was all right i think?

I had no interests in this item. I was only curius.

    2. These two medals on the photo, China 1900-01 and Kaucasus 1837, were sold for a little below 150:- $. I didnt dare to make a bid because it was strange to me to sell them from Latvija to Sweden. Are they false?

If you want i can send photo of other side.

    3. This medals are for sale in sweden by someone from Latvija. I cant se anything wrong with the medals but i have no knowledge about forgeries. But what could be a reason for someone in Latvija to sell russian medals in sweden? And together with such a photography?

I am not interested to buy these medals but is wery interested to hear your opinions. I dont make a new thread about this - i dont think it is worth it.

    4. Thankyou!

Now i know what it is and as it is not military i dont mind if you take this thread away.

This badge i think is later than Alexander II, maybe the institute was started during his regim?

    5. This small badge has been impossible for med to read - but i shall try to meet some russian here to get it translated.

I understand that it is impossible for you to read it but does someone recognize the "hat" over the eagle?

Has this badge something with the church to do and not with the army?

    6. Hello,

JW stands for Jakob Westholm. http://www.westholm.tln.edu.ee/

Jakob Westholm`s Gymnasium existed in pre-WW II Estonia and existing right now too.

Also the colours of the badge match with the colours of the flag of this gymnasium.

Kalju is a common Estonian male name.

      pluribus

The jeton was taken to sweden by a woman who was the daughter to a tsarist russian officer (I have asked questions about him in old Russia area here and his father lived i Tallin and both he and his fater was in the Russian army. I have some old pictures of them and they had russian names.). Maybe this jeton was given as a memory from Kalju - this young man???? If you were a young man 1937 it must have been dangerous times later in Estonia.

    7. As somebody of you know i have bought a collection of photographs with many portraits of militarys round 1900. I have now decided to sell the whole collection (and my russian medals) at Hoilands in Denmark in may. I think you like to se all but maybe that is not fair to the boyer. This priest dont belong to that collection and is by the way printed. If i make a guess around 1860 - 90. Anyway i hope that you think his awards are interesting.

    8. Thankyou very much for that very interesting information!

I shall try to investigate that photo more. I still dont knov about witch harbour they visited and who Alexejew was. Maybe that ship visited Reval - Tallin because many other photos are from there.

    9. Thank you.

I understod enough to read out that it was general Brusilov. It is not made in high quality and is it a small medal sold to people who admired Brusilow and not given as award?

The other medallion: Has it a military background or is it something completley diffrent?
