    1. ###### OFF THis is just bullshit,I came here to try and get 2 pieces together, and I get attacked for not buying it from the original owner, and now for giving a answer to Kev about it being a post war put together.....I dont know...I came to unite to pieces, thats all not to sell to everyone, AS I COULD NOT GET INTO THE SELLING AREA,.....WOW MODS PLEASE PULL MY MEMBERSHIP,and my posts

I never said post-war put-together, i just stated it was likely to be a put-together...you seem to have a problem with reading? :ninja: How about we call it a modern put-together? Does this register with you? Even a modern put-together can be "tight"...i am sure it isn't hard to sew on medals tightly like they did 60 odd years ago....
    2. A post war put together??? well ya its a 57 award bar,so it would be post war...I like the 57 bars, i have a few so tight, you cant move the ring around to check for MM's

Well said Kevin!! IMO the bar is a put together for the reasons you listed above, no soldier would have let such an obvious mistake go unchecked. I would be interested in seeing this guys other items that have incorrect ribbons...pehaps all bought from the same dealer? :catjava:

Kevin1261, as for your comment: "These are 57 items"....as if to say they do not matter? :speechless1: 1957 medal bars were most likely put together by the same military tailors and their families, who made the WW2 period bars, so they would not make silly mistakes? I used to own quite a few 57er medal bars, and the quality and workmansship etc was just as good as my WW1+WW2 Bars.

    3. Wow, I dont know what picture your looking at,the ribbons are wrong, the chain came with the bar,SOOO all i was wanting was to se if the gentlemen that bought the bar would like the rest of it the way I bought....O.K.? simple and easy, like most people that buy militaria,no i did not buy from the orignal owner,I didnt buy any of my collection from orignal owners.....so your telling me if its not from original owners its not good?....Is this how you get your items,by telling people there no good, and buying for a few bucks? You are the only one with a problem with what I'm trying to do.So my is that?..I cleared out my info so....If the guy that wants to get back he wont have a chance. And as far as english being my only language...well I have a few english words for you in Gentlemanly fashion, but please go back and lookat the rest of my collection I posted before and tell me how much junk I have,Like I said this why I quit collecting and will not try to get the 2 remaining sets together.......

The whole purpose of this Forum is to promote discussion with regards the objects in our hobby

in a Gentlemanly manner if you have an attitude problem when questions are asked with regards the items

you post that's your concern, but, seemingly getting a straight answer in comprehensible English

is a problem for you, (perhaps English is not your first language. )

But, my understanding is, that a set of items, are items that come from an original owner

and to be able to claim that, there is normally some type of Provenance available.

Because the items were sold to you that way does not necessarily mean they were originally that way.

I find it odd that the large medal bar, even if a 57er, should have such a basic mistake

as the K.V.K. first and the Iron Cross second,

the original owner certainly would have known the items were assembled in the wrong sequence,

and had the mistake corrected, in this day and age to many items are turning up, that are very modern fabrication

and people interested in these items from a collecting point of view have to have the right to ask questions, so as to learn

if the item is an original period manufactire or a modern fabrication.

    4. These are 57 items,I also have a nother medal (the red cross bar posted else were here) so if the ribbons dont match the awards....I also have a real nice bar with a 57WW1 on a WW2 ribbon,so when I try to marry that up to its match, which were minis, you gonna have a HARD ON for that on also? And how many items do you have names for? this way I gave up collecting in the first place. In fact delete this whole topic,Ive had enough.

      Hallo Kev,

I am not implying you put the items together, but, if the large item is a post WW2 put together,

which possibly means assembled for the purpose of selling,

why would the wrong ribbons and medal combo feature in the order of the layout?

The combination of the two items a s a set raises more questions than answers.

I cannot imagine how the owner would have had an incorrectly assembled large size bar

from the period of WW2 and a correct mini bar alongside.

I presume there was no Provenance or paperwork naming the original recipient?

      Kevin in Deva.

    5. Well lets see,I sold this bar in 03 maybe 04,when I sold alot of my collection and my M1A supermatch to buy a 2003 harley,So if I bought the bar and tthe chain at the same time, same auction, how are they not related?

Kevin1261, confusing, I thought you said the large bar was sold a number of years ago?

if its (the large bar) in that configuration then the possibility is the mini chain items are not related to the large bar.

      Kevin in Deva.

    6. Thats what I really lke about the bar,was the wrong awards on the wrong ribbons.I thought somewhere I read that during the war years, the time was doubled.(Icould be full of crap :speechless:

Hi. Just looking at the medal bar.....the EK and KVK are on the wrong ribbons.....and i also have never seem 4 long service awards mounted like this...why or how would a WW2 soldier have the 25 Year long service cross? When these were awarded in 1957 did service count right up to 1957 or to the end of the war in 1945??

      Thanks

      John
