    1. Hallo Conker,

By the way, typing in large case letters, means in computer speak, that you are angry and shouting.

You did ask for opinions, and opinions are being offered.

Another tip, It would have been a help to include the size / dimensions of your object, when looking for information

the more information you provide about your item, can help determine if the item is real.

Unfortunately, in the world of Third Reich Militaria collecting everything has been faked, or fantasy items created

and cloth items are the easiest to fabricate, just because the came from a house clearance of a 90 years old man

does not mean he did not pick them up as fakes 35 years ago when he was 50ish.

Most of us here have been caught out by a fake at some stage or other, its all part of the learning process.

      Kevin in Deva.

ok i only asked for opinions nothing more and said where i bought them from and they look genuine to me and its the 1st ive heard that typing in capitals is because im mad???? i must have left the caps lock on simple

    4. Hi conker

If the one on the right has an eyelet at each corner it's a field and vehicle identification flag (Feld und Fahrzeug Erkennungsflagge)

Introduced in March 1940, the swastika flag replaced white painted Balkan crosses that were painted directly on all four sides of vehicles. In April 1941, swastika flags were replaced by flags bearing a black Balkan cross.

The one on the left looks like the circular swastika piece that's been removed from a large flag.

      manythanks for ur help

    5. As a follow up to my last post, I will try to explain in a little more detail.

When the fake pieces of the three discs mentioned above appeared in 1994, there were known originals of two of them for minute comparasion. The fake discs for the ultra-rare Prussian State Kripo disc were counterfeited in at least three different metals...bronze, nickel-silver and silver plated, but all were struck on the SAME counterfeit dies. The Fake Gestapo disc was produced in the correct nickel-silver (neusilber)., and the Geheime Feldpolizei (GFP) disc was produced in neusliber. All were die struck in very high quality.

The fake "Gestapo" disc was the first to be unmasked. Then shortly afterwards the Prussian State Kripo disc was equally discredited. That left ONLY the GFP disc that could not be effectively declared a fake....because the only known original example of that disc had been used to produce the counterfeit. A rather poor illustration of it is shown in a 1989 published Osprey book "German Military Police Units 1939-45" written by Gordon Williamson, and illustrated by Ron Volstad. Today, the whereabouts of that original disc is unknow to the collecting world, but probably still in the possession of the persons who were involved in producing the fake discs.

Since there is no other known original example of the GFP disc, by which to use to unmask the fake pieces....no one that I know can "tell you for sure", but in a case like this, a little bit of common sense can go a long way toward saving one's money.

manythanks for all your help cheers

    6. The two badges with the helmets are black wound badges for 1 or 2 wounds or frostbite suffered in battle. The one on the left is a WW1 and the one with the Swaztica is WW2. The ones below this with the steering wheels are drivers badges for driving proficiency. One is bronze and one is silver, without the fabric backing. They are Third reich german badges but are one of the few from this era without swazticas on them. The badge to the right with the 2 soldiers pulling the alligator out of the water is a German/Italian campaign medal I guess for service in North Africa. It's missing it's ribbon. The one with Aldolph Hitler 1933 looks like some kind of NASDAP party pin but I'm not sure. Someone else will have to authenticate it. The eagle is some type of uniform eagle but again I don't know.

      cheers for ur help manythanks
