    1. Here's a comparison shot....pewter (bottom) and a "regular" steel parade buckle....pewter is heavier and it actually "feels" different (texture). Cheers! Rob
    2. Hey gang! I'm quite happy to have acquired a two piece parade buckle that is made of pewter. I'm not sure how many were made this way - but can't be that many! This one is pretty cool...where the paint is worn, the pewter has turned black - certainly gives the buckle a different look. A welcome addition to my collection!! Here are some pics! Still trying to get more info on these buckles (was there more than one manufacturer of these?). Ben.....can you shed any light on this buckle? If anyone has an example to share...I'd love to see it! Cheers! Rob
    3. Another great example....I can see how the temptation was uncontrollable! I love it! Rob
    4. Always nice to find one of the missing manufacturers! Congrats Ben! Rob
    5. Hi! I think there is a list floating around already that has been put together...It's a pretty comprehensive list. There were a lot of makers. I'm sure Ben knows where it's at....Ben? Cheers! Rob
    6. heh heh heh....That's for damn sure....they are really hard to find in that condition! Glad you like it buddy! Rob
    7. Thank you Nesredep....it was a nice surprise to find one in this kind of condition at the show! Cheers! Rob
    8. Hey Ben...I'm glad you like it buddy! I thought you might. When the day comes - you'll be the guy! Thanks for the info! I thought 1940 was the year that the steel buckle was introduced...I agree: this must have been one of the last to be made before the total conversion! By the way - it was the first buckle I came across at the show....sure did a double take on it! hahaha Thanks again for the info! Cheers! Rob
    9. Here's one last shot of all the tabbed buckles that I have that are not married to a belt. Cheers! Rob
    10. more pics... Here's the maker mark...hard to get a shot of because it's under the prong bar...
    11. Hey guys....Took in a militaria show today and found a real nice treasure! It's an unissued, mint Heer buckle from Gustav Brehmer! This is my "mintiest" pebbled heer by far! Dated 1940 and well marked! She's a welcome addition to the collection. This one got me thinking of you Ben! hahahaha Question for you - when did they stop making the pebbled Heer buckles? Hope you guys like it! I think she's awesome! Cheers! Rob
    12. Nice addition to your collection buddy! Mint or not....any new buckle is a great thing! Congrats man! Rob
    13. My pleasure - Always glad to be able to share! That's what this board is all about! Cheers! Rob
    14. Here's a closeup of the buckle....I had a looksee and it appears I do have one like you have pictured....It's the top one - both these buckles are the small 35mm type. Cheers! Rob
    15. Hi Nesredep.....That's certainly an SA buckle - but yet another type of variant. Not quite the same as the one I have posted. Have a look at the eagle's head....my example has the head looking to your right as well but it's under the rope. Actually - that example you have shown looks like one of the smaller NSDAP Youth buckles that are identical to SA buckles but made smaller....Here's what I mean - it's a pic of one of my regular SA buckles beside the smaller example: Hope that helps....thanks for taking the time to post that pic! Rob
    16. I don't have that copy anymore as I now have the second edition....I'll do a little digging....Cheers! Rob
    17. Hey Ben....not sure if it's pictured in those books. It's certainly an early piece! Cheers! Rob
    18. You can see how the eagle and the belt catch are different on this example....
    19. Hey gang...This one showed up today and although it doesn't "fit the bill" when compared to other SA buckles - what makes this one special is that it's from a small firm that made only a few of these in the pre-RZM days before the big wig makers took over. Certainly looks different - that's what I like about SA buckles....There are so many different variants....Glad to add this one to the collection! Cheers! Rob
    20. Sold to Chad eh? Why is that not surprising??? hahahaha....He knows his HJ's....that's for sure! Cheers! Rob
