Hey gang! Here's my latest....took no time at all coming over from U.K....gotta like it! It's a hard to find crank catch style heer buckle from Herman Aurich. Given it's rarity - I don't mind it being a little salty! Marked on the reverse on the eagle .... but it's a little hard to make out in the pics. It's dated '43 too. Happy to add this one to the collection. Didn't have a crank catch heer until now! Thanks to Ben for the sale! I love it buddy! Cheers Rob
Hey! Not sure who made it....Aurich, Assman and CTD (perhaps other makers too) experimented with these types of Crank Catches....I wouldn't mind nailing it - but if I had to guess, I would probably go with Assman. Glad you like it! Cheers! Rob
Last shot....this is where she resides now: with my first pattern luft dagger, along with a second pattern parade luft and a zinc made droop tail two piece buckle. Cheers gang! Rob
Hey gang! Here's my most recent luft buckle; arrived just yesterday! .....it's in killer condition for a droop tail example and it also features the harder to find crank catch as well!! Real gem and I'm super happy to have added it to the collection. Here are some shots! Cheers! Rob
I know absolutely nothing about lanyards...but that is a nice belt and buckle! Congrats on this nice find! Any markings on the back of the buckle, by any chance? Cheers! Rob
Thanks guys! Glad you like 'em! Chris man - you asked about ww1 officer buckles? I actually don't have any of those - yet! Which buckle made you think that it was ww1 officer? Joe - ya damn right the gold DAF is hard to find. I've only seen one come up for sale - it this one was that example. They are hard to find. They are out there...but their owners are not selling! Cheers! Rob
Hey guys! I've had some fellow collectors ask if I could take pics of my entire buckle collection. Had some free time on my hands today so I thought I'd take them out of their cases for some "group shots". Here they are...the lot of them - except for a about four buckles that are in dagger display cases that I forgot about! At this point...I'm at 170 even (that includes two that are on their way via Mr.Mailman) Cheers gang! Rob
Way cool! Congrats on finding out! Man, I would have never thought of emailing the company to find out if this hallmark was used in ww2. Very cool! Nice feeling isn't it!!! Cheers! Rob
