Hey Joe....It is quite interesting IMO too! I think that by the time these auxiliaries were being put to use, the DJ organization had ceased to exist. It makes sense that the Germans would have been efficient and used all the thousands of remaining buckles for other purposes. It's quite interesting that they would have used them this way. Maybe others can shed more information about this....I wonder if it was done with other buckles as well. Cheers! Rob

I think I've got most organizations covered. There are still a few that I don't have. One buckle that I've been after for a while is the NPEA Studentbund buckle. Just can't find any for sale anywhere! The hunt continues! Cheers man! Rob -

Hi Ben! Thanks buddy....Glad you like it! It's a welcome addition to the collection. Though I mainly enjoy pieces with "character" - that show wear and the possibility of seeing action, I couldn't pass up this example. Cheers! Rob -

Hey gang! Here's my mintiest RAD buckle! It's in great shape and I'm happy to have acquired this one last week! Obviously unissued as there are no wear marks....Here are some pics...It's made by JFS...not as common a RAD maker as others I think - or maybe it's because I've just never seen another RAD buckle made by this well known buckle maker! Cheers! Rob

Hey! Success! I found that picture you were asking about.....The DJ with it's single rune is easily identified and we all associate it with the German Youth movement. But have a look at these ethnic German "pasture protection guards" (formed in Rumania to help the Germans protect livestock and harvests from partisans). They are being trained by an SS soldier who wears the SS buckle - but look at THEIR buckles! Those are DJ buckles. The reasoning behind this is that by this time the DJ had been disbanded and was no longer a working organization. I'm sure there were still hundreds/thousands of these buckles still to be had - so the decision was made to use them with this organization. Pretty cool! Hope this is the picture you were talking about! Sorry if the picture is crap....I need a better scanner! Enjoy! Cheers! Rob

Thanks Joe....It was a first for me too! I've actually learned that the maker is not Dransfeld but rather Karl Wurster who mistakenly marked his buckles with his M1/34 for a short while before he realized that he wasn't supposed to do that. He actually never got an M4 designation so I'm assuming he stopped making these buckles not long afterwards!! Cheers! Rob

Hey - well, it took a month (G.damn post office)....but I got a couple buckles today as well as an HJ pin. Thought I'd post this one first as we've been looking at DJ's lately. This one is a rare puppy! So happy to add this one to the collection - it's made by Heinrich Nordwall Dransfeld out of Menden. What is really cool is where the markings are! Don't see that on most of the DJ buckles! Came with original belt too. Yes: ME HAPPY! heh heh heh! Cheers! Rob
