Here's a close up of the handle....It was at one time completely brown and I believe the blossoms would have been yellow - but not anymore!

Hey gang! I've posted this one on other forums too so you may have seen it already but I'm just so damn happy to have finally added one to my collection. This is my one and only Japanese piece (for now)....as I am a German militaria collector.
This is a nice NCO issued Shin-Gunto - govt. issued combat sword. Blade measures 27 inches and is in real good shape. No dents in the scabbard and matching numbers also. Handle is made of aluminum and does show wear but I'm more than happy with this piece!
Thought I'd post some pics. If any of the markings that I show mean anything to anyone - please let me know. I know one is an arsenal stamp but if you have more info - I'd love to hear about it!
Cheers gang!

Thanks guys! Paul...to answer your question: the only example that I know of is this type of police buckle. I can't recall seeing any other buckles that were done this way! These are not as common as the regular police buckles. Glad you like 'em guys!
Cheers!

Hey Pat ! Glad you like the buckle! It's a harder to find variant. The other buckles used by these Vet organizations were mostly made of brass and had a helmet featured on the front roundel. This eagle pattern I have shown still shows the helmet - but it's much smaller. I'll post some pics of some of the more common types. But what is really cool with these buckles is that there are so many different types of buckles that were produced!
Cheers!

I've only seen one navy offered on WAF.....I'll certainly be asking for advice if and when the time comes. I've located a gold cut out that's legit! Condition isn't perfect but it'll do as these are pretty hard to come by!
I'll post pics when it arrives!
Cheers!

Hey guys....I've got quite a few HJ's - some hard to find examples included - but this is my first "KH" example.
This buckle (exactly like the one pictured on p.501/ Nash) is considered a "transitional" buckle - back in the time when RZM was first introduced and there was a lot of confusion floating around as to how buckles should be marked/stamped.
I love this one! Lots and lots of markings: KH (for Koppelschlosshersteller), M4/49 for Steinhauer and Luck, RZM and the St. & L logo!
Assumed to be used sometime between 1934 and 1935, after the UE stampings were stopped and before the full out RZM regulations took effect, I really like this example!
A welcome addition to the collection!
Here are some pics for you guys!
Cheers!

Hey gang! Well, I have a few RAD box buckles but didn't have an officer issued buckle - so I picked this one up! Nicely marked and dated! A welcome addition to the collection! Thought I'd share a few shots!
Cheers!

Thanks Paul....Here's a quick question: were the navy issued WB's only issued in WW1? or were some also given out in WW2?
Cheers!

The navy ones are also on my list....but I think those are as rare as hen's teeth - and much more expensive!
In due time though - I'll just try to finish off the ground forces first! LOL!
Glad you like 'em Joel! There's something about these badges....each one has a story, or two, or three, or ..... hahahahaha.....you know what I mean!
Cheers!

Hey gang....those of you who know me, know that I'm mostly a buckles, armband and helmet guy...but I also like Wound Badges. I'm trying to get one of each type. At this point, my next one would be a gold ww1 cut out. Still trying to hunt one of those down - just not having much luck finding one
!!
In any case I thought I would post a quick pic of where my collection is at! More to come (I hope).
Cheers gang!

Thanks Bob....yes, they are like hen's teeth! The collection is around 130 now I think. Getting hard because my collection works on the "one of each" principle. I do include variants though so it keeps it rolling!
Glad you like it!
Cheers!

Hey gang! Thought I'd show my newest buckle. I'm quite happy with this one. Hard to find and I had been looking for a while - without success! I love the look of this one....she's been around! Can't show markings but they are there (Richard Sieper and Son). It's a very weak strike.
In any case....quite a welcome addition to the collection! Here are a few shots for you guys!
Cheers!
