Here's another new one to the collection. Arrived with the Weimar navy I already posted. This is my first FAD buckle! I'm quite happy with it as I've never had the opportunity to get one before.
It's well marked on the reverse but didn't get a great shot (Ges.Gesch and Assmann marked).
Hope you all like it as much as I do!
Cheers!

Hey gang....there seems to be more interest in Pre-TR buckles here on this forum....though that's just my opinion.
In any case.....here's a Weimar Brass Navy buckle that came in today.....I have some Reichsheer buckles but no navy ones.....so I'm quite happy!
Thought I'd show and share!
Cheers...

Hey gang....well, when I noticed Hauptman's rare 1895 buckle with the Christian cross on it rather than the Iron Cross...I decided I needed to try and track one down and add it to my collection.....Well, I was lucky enough to find one, believe it or not, and it arrived today.
I love the patina on it! The brass has taken on a very dark colour!
Gotta like it!!! Anyhoot....thought I'd show for your appreciation!
Cheers...

Hey gang! Thought I'd show my newest buckle. A nicely worn two piece (unmarked) Fire/Police buckle that has been burnished in black. Now I have all three: a police buckle, a harbour police buckle and this fire/police buckle.
She's a welcome addition to my collection so I thought I'd share some pics with you guys!
Cheers!

As expected, it is a two piece buckle. As previously mentioned, it looks like a type of buckle that was sold to the public for patriotic reasons. I like it! Certainly looks good and unique to boot!
The only problem I see is that it doesn't reside in my collection!
Thanks for posting the pics. Wish I could tell you more!
Cheers...

Well, that's not what I expected to see. I actually thought it would be smaller!
It actually looks like the match case covers but as previsouly mentioned it was probably a patriotic type buckle sold to the public for wear. I have some Third Reich and Weimar trouser buckles and they appear to be smaller than that one though.
Any chance at seeing how the rear of the buckle is setup ? Thanks!
Very intersting and nice to see!
Cheers!

Hey....You should try posting a pic again....I'd love to see it! Maybe your file was too big - try reducing the size of the picture.
Good luck!

Hey guys! Glad you like the pics. It was very cool to be there. I wish I could have spent more time but scheduling did not allow me to visit all the beaches. I didn't even get to see UTAH.
But at least now I have a reason to go back!
Cheers....

Last pic gang.....hope you liked 'em....
I kept this one for last as I thought it would be very fitting. This was at Longues in between the massive gun installments.....a beautiful poppy growing all by itself, something so beautiful and fragile growing amid these massive instruments of death and destruction.
Cheers....

A little further up the coast, at Arromanches, you can still see the Mulberry harbours that were towed across the channel. THis piece was pretty close to shore. If you look behind it, you can see the other huge artificial harbours that are all "lined up".
