    1. Posted as a pdf file. Hope you can see it. Doc1.pdf
    2. I apologize as I may have posted these looking for ID before, but can't seem to find them. Thanks for your patience and ID's.http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_09_2014/post-4280-0-38208400-1411253274.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_09_2014/post-4280-0-31874000-1411253313.jpg
    3. I was presented these by a female Inspector a number of years ago.http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_09_2014/post-4280-0-72895400-1411253101.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_09_2014/post-4280-0-91662200-1411253119.jpg
    4. Mervyn, I can't locate any markings as you describe. Any other suggestion?
    5. Thanks again Mervyn. Where would I find the manufacturer's details? I looked on both sides and saw no writing (I presume I'm looking for writing Once I get directions, I'll give the info.
    6. Had to save this as a pdf file. Not sure if it can be opened. I combined both sides of the blade for comparison. Sword sides.pdf
    7. Mervyn, Thanks for all the info. Here is a pic of the other side of the blade as well as a shot of some of the pitting on the blade. What do you suggest for the blade pitting repair?
    8. Got this for my birthday last May. I'd appreciate any comments about the markings please.
    9. Got this for my wife awhile back. I apologize if I posted this before (I seem to having a few more "senior moments :-) I thought the inside pic of Gen MacArthur was rather interesting with the saying.
    10. Found this at a local antique store. My wife likes sterling silver things (which is what this is). Anyway, I've found a new thing to look for now :-)
    11. Thanks for all your comments folks. As with anything: space, money and MOST IMPORTANTLY-WIFE'S PERMISSION is ABSOLUTELY vital. (LOL)
    12. Just spent the afternoon browsing the local antique shops. Saw this, but didn't buy it $120.00 USD. Did buy the MP helmet liner though. Obviously seen better days, but the headbands appear to be original. Just added a pic of the inside of the MP liner. Comments on age, etc would be appreciated. Ed
    13. Part of my collection. Had to go buy more display boxes. Will add more later. Hope you enjoy these. Each frame will be numbered and descriptions added by row.
    14. This is an excellent reference book to identify US Army Heraldic Crests. I am also posting a sample page that shows an example of how the crests are identified and displayed. The book has an alphabetical index of motto's as well as an additional index with no motto, but listed numerically. The index gives the Plate number and row. There are 129 Plates (pages) with 24 pictures per page (3096 crests!).
    15. You can also use this one. http://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/pdf/r600_8_22.pdf
    16. Many will remember this GREAT lady as well as the GREAT song she introduced.
    17. It was normally part of a patent leather gear set worn by US Army Military Policemen. I have my Dad's set which includes the 1st aid pouch, magazine holder (two .45 cal magazines) .45 cal holster, shoulder strap and belt.
    18. I was going through one of my "memory footlockers" and found this old 1969 USAF Survival Guide. It is really interesting to read some of the ideas/concepts that were presented back then.
    19. Thanks Mervyn. Right now I have them in a case with some of my other special badges.
    20. My wife surprised me with these two sterling silver "presentation badges" for our 50th wedding anniversary (June 6th). They were specifically made to be used on plaques, etc so they are flat on the back with no pins. BEAUTIFUL pieces. The pictures don't really do them justice, but that's the best I could do for now off my cell phone :-)
    21. Thanks Mervyn. I truly enjoy "surfing" the site to see the varied interests and postings. Don't know anything about the sword stick. I was hoping someone might be able to give some insight about it. Not sure if I mentioned it or not, but we also celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on June 6th! BTW: When is our next photo competition? My family and I are waiting with baited breath!
    22. Just in case anyone is interested in looking at their web site. http://www.army.mil/info/organization/unitsandcommands/commandstructure/theoldguard/ ALSO: Some very interesting "You Tube" videos
    23. I haven't been reading very much lately so I guess my daughter thought I should take some time just to "sit and enjoy" a couple of good books :-) The crests are from my son. They are worn on US Army uniforms. These bring my collection number to 115. I really enjoy this as an aside hobby to my "primary" hobby of collecting police department shoulder patches and police car model die cast cars.
    24. Another present for my 70th birthday last week from my awesome son. I have NO idea where he finds these but really enjoy getting them.
    25. May we share other police armbands here (US & foreign) or is there another forum that would be more appropriate? Ed
