It certainly isn't an official badge, but perhaps made for a veteran during the interwar period.
Should someone recognize it as a known fake, however, I'd certainly like to know.

Knowing that copies abound of the Austrian U-Boat Badge, I'd like opinions about the authenticity of this piece.
The edges inside the letters don't appear to be completely straight. Is it a known copy? Or perhaps made by a jeweler?
