I'm glad I didn't buy it as I had similar issues with it as Rick did, not to mention the engraving of the award.

No clue what is in the (?) remote link pdf/(?) attachment translation.
Text can be copied and pasted easily.
He obviously remained on active duty from his 1950 long service MMM and 2nd (15 years) Red Star-- very few NCOs were long term career personnel in the Soviet army, so I wonder if he ended up commissioned.
Sorry Rick, Try this. It also seems that he was downgraded in rank at one stage as well.

I don't post here very often but since there has been an influx of medical personnel I'd like to contribute a recent research that has come in. Interesting to note that the dilema here is that while saving lives he was also taking lives!
Enjoy

Thankyou all for your comments. I'll take a close up of a couple this weekend.
Sadly I have had to taken down 6 other researched Glories due to 'she who must be obeyed', it seems the lounge room is supposed to be for more refined things and some renovations

Slava,
I'd love to see better scans of this order, especially of the medallion, but so far, my opinion leans toward
Orders in this serial number range, and all later ones were of the type with the clock showing either 9:05 or 9:00. The flat clock face is an earlier variant, and highly unlikely to be.
Marc
I agree with Marc. The wreath leaves are way to fat for a start. I'd steer clear, looks like a bad copy to me.

Nice example of a 1000 stitch belt. Note the coin stitched on to the belt as another goodluck talisman. Nice pick up!
