Hi Cnock,
Hallo Stephan, they could have been at St. Eloi?
I have several pics of IR 415 with positions in large mine craters
Regards,
Cnock
Sorry, I don't know but it doesn't seems to be.
In the historie of the 204 JD, Saint Eloi is not mentionned :

Hey....Great buckles. My fave is the Hessen! I still have yet to acquire one of those! Love the Saxon variant.....looks to be smaller than the regular 45mm buckles......is yours the 40mm variant?
Awesome stuff! Thanks for showing!
Rob
Hi Rob,
No, it's not a 40 mm.
The size of this one is : 47 x 65 mm.
Thanks for your answer.

Hi,
It seems to be original.
Do you have the size of this buckle ?

Hi,
Thanks for your comment.
It's a known saxon variant (probably for the period 1867-1895) but unfortunately, I don't have any idea for the maker.

Greg I put an idea/answer on the pickelhaube forum. seems to me it is consistent with the Rheinisch infantry regiments of IX Army Corps. Therefore I would vote that it is JR 25. 25R
Hi,
25R
You are surely right !

The stamp looks like it could be 253.
Paul
Perhaps, but I don't think it's a regimental marking.
Generally, there is a "JR" or "R" before or after numbers.
Here, I don't know what it can be.

Hi,
Nice Helmet
Is it complete, inside ?
Is there a regimental marking ?
Cheers.

Stephan,
I would say in English it would be German silver or nickel silver. In Germany it is referred to as Neusilber or Alpaka. Maillechort, I believe, is an alloy in this family, but it has zink in it.
Chip
Thanks for your answer !
This alloy (Maillechort) is made of : copper, nickel and zinc.
I know what is "Alpaka", and it seems to be the same thing.

Hello,
The JR 415 was part of the 204 Jnfanterie Division (during july-december 1916).
In october-november, this Division was in the vicinity of Wytschaete near Messines at south of Ypres : "Stellungsk?mpfe im Wytschaetebogen (Flandern)".
Best regards,

and the Leibgarde I.R. 115
Hi Chip,
Very nice buckles, especially this one for the Leibgarde JR 115 !
Do you know the name of metal it is made ?
In french, it is "Maillechort" but I don't know the word in english.

Stephan,
That is a very nice set. While on the subject, you might like to see the very plain M07 shoulder strap from the same regiment.
Chip
Very nice too !

I add a nice photo of the 2 GRzF :
And shoulder boards :
He was "Jahresklasse 1909" and he fought throughout the war (1916 Gefreiter, 1917 Unteroffizier, Februar 1918 Sergenten). Until 1917 he was in the 2 GRzF and then in the "Feld Rekrut Depot" of the 231 Jnfanterie Division. Here are extracts from his Milit?rpass :

Thank you for your answers
hi stephan,a beautiful and fairly complete ensemble depicting a long membership in a veteran's organization!
very fine quality!
i assume the stars are approx. 30mm? that seems to be the usual size, give or take a few mm...
The stars are 46 mm...
Best regards

Hi,
Here are 3 badges for a same veteran in the Garde Korps (During the war, he was at the 2 GRzF).
These badges are they "official" or only for a veteran association ?
Do you know what is the signification of the numbers 25 and 50 (the years he spent in this association ?)
By advance, thank a lot.
