I started a small collection of pins and medals of the period too:

Here in Brazil is a popular subject of collecting, specially between people that are from Sao Paulo State (who fought against the dictatorship).

Those pins are increasing their prices too much in my opinion.

My way to display my collection is similar as your "wall of glory" (my wife call it wall fo fame").

I hope that in the near future you will have to find a wall even bigger

My question was not quite correct about the german insignias.

The diference I ask is just about the judicial insignia between the armed forces justice.

Is the sword the same pattern worn today?

Saddly not, Paul. That is a pattern worn by cadets of the Military Police from the beggining of the 20th century.

At the time the armed forces here prefered to import those swords and daggers.

This is a german made sword (solingen).

I collect for some years, but, my collection only now is going out of the closet's drawers and getting more space in displays:

My wife call that "the fame wall".

The space between the two frames bellow the sword will be filled by a brazilian WWII navy display.

Ok, I still have only one medal, but, even having money, you don't find the medals, meanwhile, I keep having fun making the display:

The frame is the same size of the one I made for the FEB's MP display (above). The background was made with two aluminum plates to "enter in the aeronautics atmosphere". The "rivets of the aircraft" have been made with normal rivets found in hardware stores. I created a different system to hang the medal without damages:

Everything is made in aluminum to prevent rust.

Because of the flash, the background appeared darker. actually it is clear and contrasts well with the medal.

I'm making a set of small displays for the brazilian medals in WWII.

I have a low budget and don't have much space, but, it doesn't have to be obstacle.

I could see in this forum many wonderfull and creative displays and got inspiration to make mine.

I wanted to get of the traditional black or red velvet.

Brazilian Army display:

First, I made a display of medals that the Military Policemen of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB) could have received. One medal and a ribbon bar are still lacking:

I tried to create an " atmosphere" related to each subject.

I bought a frame already made and inside I used military vehicle canvas (found of in store of truck canvas). In the internal sides I placed raw wood to resemble something like an ammo box:

The display is placed in the vertical position (in the wall), so I made a system to fix the pieces in a way to don't damage them:

The medal is actually hanging by the part numbered as "1".

The other points are made just to help and actually do not stress the ribbon.

The other side:

This is the medal for brazilian army troops who were wounded or dead in WWII:

...This little lot come from sellers in ... believe it or not ... Brazil !!!
