Hi,
A friend of mine sent me these pictures of a EKII he is considering to buy.
Looks ok to me, but I would like to hear your opinions on it.
If possible, would like to know what is the maker.
Thanks in advance,
Douglas.

Thanks anyway!

Sorry about that but if things keep going as they seem to be it won't be long before we here are in the same boat.
Well, can you believe that I just found myself a nice nazi HP35 rig? It's a very late war production pistol, bearing a nice patina overall. Used but not abused.
I'm happy as a clown!

Hi,
I don't know if this is the correct forum, but here we go.
I would like to put a name on this German General and Oakleaves holder.
The site where I found this picture misidentified him as Hermann Hohn.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks everybody for helping me to identify this cross.
Very interesting information about the makers mark.
This one bears no mark.

N?o exatamente meu amigo!
As far as I could understand, both the standard recoil spring (which located inside the bolt) and this device installed inside the grips work together all the time. However, the tension inside the piston can be regulated by the three-position switch over the left grip.
The whole breech system is connected with the controlling device by a flat lever that does not appear in the pictures.

Mervyn, Tom an Keenan,
Thanks for your kind comments.
I?m sorry for having expressed my frustration so openly, but I couldn?t help. The feedback was so great when I posted this Royal MM34 on collectable guns-oriented forums that I wrongly hope to read the same here ? which is a more medal oriented board.
According to a copy of the MM34's instruction book that was sent to me by a fellow collector the rate of firing is the following:
Position 1: 2-3 shots per second
Position 2: 5-6 shots per second
Position 3: 9-10 shots per second
The device works as an additional recoil spring, slowing the rate of fire by increasing the tension in that piston.

Hugh,
You PM box is full. So let me explain that the problem is that the board exceed the maximum capability of hosting images.
You will need to host your images elsewhere and then post the link there. We usually host our images at http://imageshack.us/
In case of any problems let me know.

H. Stern is the most reputable jewelry maker in Brazil today. This company was involved with medals/awards producing in the past, but I'm afraid that they are not in this business anymore. The quality of its craftmanship is expensive for the current budget of the Brazilian government. You know how it works: the contract winner is always the lowest bidder.
But I can try to confirm that.
In addition I should tell you that we (Brazilians) created a net forum to discuss militaria and there is a specific board to help foreigners:
www.ommb.com.br/forum
I'm sure that folks over there would love to see your awards.

Hugh,
Those are great examples of the "Ordem da Rosa". Impressive examples! Congratulations.
The medals are also nice. But I'm afraid that this combination would be impossible.
Randal is still the official supplier of decoraions for the Brazilian Armed Forces, but their products has been suffering with lack of quality standards lately.

Mervyns,
These are very nice badges. I think that this forum might be helpful, as it shows a Brazilian Militaria Forum in English that might provide you some additional help:

Hi folks,
This is not my field of collecting, so I would like to hear your opinions about this HJ knife.
I'm aware that its blade was sharpened and polished and has a couple of small dents. The hanger is damaged to some extent, but the knife seem to be a correct one.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Douglas
