Can someone tell, at least, what was his rank (on the EKII certificate)??

Lambert,
Obrigado, mas eu já resolvi o problema.
Estava pesquisando um pouco mais antes de por no nosso fórum.
Uma boa parte eu fiz por mim mesmo. Outra, um pessoal de outro fórum foi mais prestativo.
Aguarde lá no HMMB...
Abraços,
Douglas

Hi,
Few days ago, some of you helped me with a letter found in a group of an Oldenburger WWI veteran.
Now, as I had promised, here is the whole set. It comprises his Militarpass, EKII certificate (issued in 1916), Wound Badge in Black (issued in 25.08.1918), Kyffhauserbund medal (issued on 22.02.1922) and the above mentioned letter regarding an hypothetical Oldenburg Friedrich August Cross 2nd. Class (24.05.1922). In addition the group also has his medal bar.
However, I need your help as I'm struggling with his Militarpass, not to avail. I could read that he served between 1896-1898 (what entitled him for the Centennial Medaille) e some time later. He was called again during WWI and served until the end of war. Some notes mention the light machine gun MG 08/15. But I would like to have a more precise account of his career.
I found his name and family on genealogy.net, but there is no entry about his date of death ( http://www.ortsfamilienbuecher.de/famreport.php?ofb=helgoland&ID=I15019&nachname=D%E4HN&lang=de ).
So, any help is welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Douglas.

Oh, it is more interesting than I thought.
Thanks a lot for your comments (I'm a lawyer too, and got your point)!
And, to your knowledge he went ahead, and got himself an Oldenburg FA Cross.
Below is his medal bar.
By the way: what is his full name: HANS JOHANN (????) DÄHN - "August", maybe???

Hi,
This documment is part of a WWI veteran documments group that i recently added to my collectio.
As far as my limited knowledge of German language goes, it is a certificate issued by the military authority in Oldenburg saying that:
- Decorations ceased after Grand Duke abdication in 1918
- As a native of Oldenburg that was awarded with the Prussian EKII during the war, he was also entitled to be awarded with the Oldenburg Friedrich August Kreuz 2nd Class.
- However, the medal itself could not be delivered as the stocks run out.
Is this correct?
As I said this is part of a nice little medal and documment group that I intend to post here. It also came with his Militarpass, and I definitively will need help to translate.
Thanks in advance!
Douglas.

I'm having some trouble to decipher the last name (his family name) of this WP original holder.
From what i can read the first two are "Emil Friedrich"...
What about the last one?
Thanks in advance,
Douglas.

Glenn and Les,
Thanks for the information provided!
I think he's wearing a Portpee, visible in his sword.

This picture is not mine.
Just trying to help a friend who owns it.
Questions: which branch of the military service this guy belonged to? What is the band under his cockarde? What medals should be possible on his ribbon bar? What is the patch on his right sleeve?
Thanks in advance,
Douglas.

Very nice indeed.
Foreign awards in a German bar are always something that I like to see, but this one is really different.
Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

Nice Chris, very nice indeed!
But you need to get a Mauser C96, a Red Nine or a Wartime Commercial.
