He entered the Navy in April 1908, had an EK fro WWII and commanded torpedo boat. He was not in between the wars.
Paul,
Are you sure that his EK is from WWII?rom his service it doesn't seem that he had any command at sea during WWII.
And thanks for the help!
Douglas.

Hi,
I'm helping a fellow collector to obtain as much information as poissible about this Kaiserlich Marine and Kriegsmarine Officer. Pictures or signed documments are mostly welcomed, but any kind of informations is also wanted (rank lists, awards, etc.)

Oct 1942-Aug 1944 - Leiter des Marinesonderdienst Bordeaux
Apr 1943-Aug 1944 - zugl. Chef der Kreigsmarinedienststelle Bordeaux
Aug 1944-May 1945 - Kommandeur der Marineregiment von Pflugk-Harttung

Mervyn,
I knew it had to be you to give some advise!
I'm doing fine, thanks!
I've tried to locate a source in the Net to identify the markings not to avail until now.

No one?
Not even a clue?

Hi,
I was asked if this cross is an original one.
In my humble opinion, it is an original item (not sure about the ribbon), late war zinc made medals, showing a very weary finish.
But, as I do not collect these anymore, would like to hear other veredicts.
Greetings,
Douglas

Hi
I'm not a sword/blades guy, so I know nothing about this stuff. I also posted this on the French Militaria forum but I didn't have any feedback. So let me try here...
A friend of mine requested some help in order to identify and date correctly tis piece.
As far as I know it it a French Infantry Briquet. However, what's the model? From what age? What doe the marks mean?
The numbers I'm assuming are serial/inventory numbers.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Douglas.

Super secret transistor radio - only issued to elite SS units via a space-time worm hole to 1965 Japan.
What about that wanna-be EKI ????
Looks like one of those that my father made to me from Coke cans when I was playing "war" in the backyard...

Very nice collection. You're the prove that medal bars are addictive!
This kind of stuff is a great passion of mine, but I had to let my collection go few years back to focus on my major interest.
But it is always nice to see a collection like yours!
Thanks for sharing,
Douglas

I own a S&W M1917 (Brazilian Contract). After I bought I simply fell in love for such revolvers.
Now I'm looking for another one to use it as a shooter and even as a home defense weapon.
They are nice.

Thanks a lot for the information.
The picture is just amazing! Those helmets are really impressive, if you know what I mean.

Hi,
Can someone provide me an image of such award/decoration (Deutsche Handwerkszeichen) ?
It was introduced by Reichspräsident Hindenburg in 1934 and was intended to be awarded to German craftsman of several areas (engravers, painters, sculptors, etc.). Or, at least, this is what I understood.
Otehr question: is thre any list of the awardees?
Please, any information is welcome.
Thanks,
Douglas
