    1. Is there any markings or label on the propellar near the shaft housing or anywhere?

      Regards,

      2dresq

On the flanges, there are stamped numers "1,2,3 - no 4,5 and 6" in a serif font. In the base of one of these "dug outs" there is also "3321" stamped; maybe a casting number? Another dug-out base has what looks to be a 1 or upside down "T". The 4 grooves inside the shaft housing are also numbered "1" through "4" along the rim in a much smaller font. Its a liitle tough to make out on the photos.

Would waffenamts be used on something like this?

Thanks for the questions - always interesting to go through it all. - Jesse

    2. What came from a museum in Russia? The photo of the sign - or the sign itself?

Sorry, here is a photo of the sign. The sign supposably came from a Russian Museum. The label on the back is what was originaly posted.

I've gotten as far as this in translation :

харзковски истооич. музе сектор учета. вов инв фамистск.лорожн.указатетв инвонтарн

харзковски истооич. To a muse sector of the account. вов инв фамистск.лорожн.указатетв инвонтарн

Thank You for any feed back - Jesse

    3. This label is on the back of a road sign for the German Army. It came from a museum in Russia. I can't even come close to translating it because of the lettering. Does anyone have any suggestions on a web site that may have the Russian equavilant to English letters or someone that may be able to read Russian ? Thank you - Jesse

    4. Here's a shot through the sight. You can see the cross-hairs, etc. The collector that I bought the sight from explained that the sight is rated for depth. This explains the weight of it. I believe that it is also a "gas" filled optic.

The sight doesn't magnify but is a wide lense. I suppose that this was used only for range finding and not so much as searching for threats?

I'm extemly curious about this instrument. I find it hard to understand that something like this, being depth rated, would be left on the "Wintergarten" during submersion. But it is extremly robust.

If anyone could suggest where to further reasearch this optic I'd love to hear - Thanks again Gents
