    1. Next in line: MEDAL 17 JULY REVOLUTION IN 1968. Then The Medal for the Palestine War, 1948-49, Medal for Crushing the Northern Rebellion, The Medal for the 14 Ramadan Revolution, 1963 will arrive next month. Then the 1st and second from the front will complete the bar. Doc
    2. Here's the medals of Saddams bar that I have so far. I'll start from the last medal and work my way towards the 1st medal. First, MEDAL FOR 1973 WAR WITH ISRAEL, 1921-1971 GOLDEN JUBILLEE MEDAL (GOLD), MEDAL FOR COOPERATION (1ST CLASS) Doc
    3. I've narrowed down my list of Imperial Medals i want to collect. I already have a decent Austrian collection so I want to set a different area to collect. I've narrowed the list to: Schaumburg-Lippe, Baden, Bavaria & Prussia ( I really like the Red Eagle). Any help would be appreciated. Doc
    4. Does anybody know where I can buy a copy of Eric's new book? Doc
    5. It must have been his work because it was a putty like substance. As for reidue on the ribbons...Nope. I was very careful removing the residue from the medals and wiped them clean. Doc
    6. This is the first of 8 pages of his service record. PAGE 1
    7. The research came in while I was taking care of Dad. Here's his Service record photo Doc
    8. Hugh, I use Irfan View myself. Just click on Image, Click on resize/resample and then click 640 X 480. The resolution is just fine. I would try to adjust the size to get as close to 150kb as possible. Doc
    9. This pair of Samar Seva Star and Pashimi Star was awarded to: 304279 Peon Mohan Lal, MES (A peon is a clerk) This pair was obviously part of a Court Mounted group. I had to pull the black thread off of the meal. I HATE it when people break apart any group but espsecially a court mounted group. I would gladly have paid for the whole group. Barbarians Doc
    10. Hugh, I resize my pics to 640 X 480 pixels. It meets the size limits of the forums and maintains a good reolution. Doc
    11. I had thought about the general usage of Peon. It's just a rank/title I haven't seen before. Doc
    12. I have a Pair that just came in, It's obviously a broken group. There's a Samar Seva Star and a Pashimi Star. The naming is my problem. The naming is: MES 304279 Peon Mohan Lal, MES What rank is a Peon or what is a Peon? Also, I was pissed. One of the stars still had the thread above the top arm of the star where it had been Court mounted. I hate it when people break up groups. I would gladly have bought the whole court mounted group. Doc
    13. Thanks for posting it here where anyone who wants the information can get it. Doc
    14. Thanks Scott!!! That's who I'm dealing with. Lorenzo got me in touch with him and suggested that I start at the end of the medal bar and work my way to the first medal. Doc
    15. As much as I hated Saddam for killing my friend on the USS Stark in 1987, I am recreating his Medal Bar. I will have it mounted with pieces of one of his bunkers in Baghdad. My friends Son is a Lt. Colonel and sent me a small bag of concrete from the bunker under one of his main palaces. So far I have two medals and three on the way. I'm working from the last medal to the 1st. I have the Medal for cooperation, 1st class and the 1921-1971 Golden jubillee medal, 1st Class. On the way to me are The Medal for the 1973 war with Israel, The Medal for the 17 July Revolution in 1968 & The Medal of Peace with the Kurds (Gilt). Next three will be: 1.The Medal for the Palestine War, 1948-49 2.Medal for Crushing the Northern Rebellion 3.The Medal for the 14 Ramadan Revolution, 1963 Two of the last three will be inexpensive. The Wisam al-Jadara First Class will cost a bit. I will definately mount them in a frame with the pieces of his bunker as a reminder that Brian's death has been avenged, though almost a couple decades later. Doc
