    1. I pop up this old threat...

Does any of you guys have some information about Dr. Ernst Gärtner (KUK doctor of medicine, commander of mobile aid station 1). Especially about his service in China???beer.gif

Noor: In the book "Ehrenbuch der Österreichisch - Ungarischen Wehrmacht. Die Ausgezeichneten im Weltkrieg. I. Band - Allerhöchste Auszeichnungen verlautbart in der Zeit vom 1. August 1914 bis 31. Juli 1915" I have found only one doctor with name Gärtner:

Gärtner Viktor Dr., OberArzt, IDSA.41 (Infanterie-Divisionssanitätsanstalt 41), GVK m.Kr. (Gold Merit Cross with Crown) awarded in 1915.

    2. ..so the "kleindekoration" is already on the way to seller, he will give me my money back. He wrote me, he bought it in an auction of fy. Zeige in Hamburg, so he will return it to them. Once more Josef thanks for informations.. I was not sure about it (when I compared it with an original piece), therefor I wanted your (and Elmars) opinion on it...

    3. Iver,

      Hi Glenn..

thanks for the link, of course I have looked through all "google" links, also this one.. Nice and huge article but it has some mistakes... In the article is written, his fathers name was Karl, but in the list of nobility from beginn of 20.th century is written, that the name of his father was Štefan (István), etc.. I am looking more for informations about awards from almanachs or so.. Becoause not all of his awards are mentioned in the article (no commemorative medal or cross, long service cross, etc.)...

      Ivan

    4. Dan, Brian: Thanks.. :)

Hunyadi: I dont´t think so... He would have at least Hungarian WWI commemorative medal, or? And maybe it is not visible on the photo, but the cross has to be "Leopold" type, because the "hole" is so shaped... and Nemzetvédelmi Kereszt is "cannon cross" type...

    5. Too many, too crowded, some of them almost invisible... a WW1 red cross award together with combatant awards AND WW2 EK2 (for combatants - a doctor should get a KVK instead :speechless1:). No go for me!

Actually, maybe that bunch of medals could be worth 600$ ? :whistle:I don't know prices for austrian republic stuff.

Valter: ..there is no "WWI red cross award" in that group...
