Hello,

The award date (as entered in the WP was 20.04.1945). This cuff. was folded all the time in the inside of teh Wehrpass.

Hello,
Here is a grouping i just collected from the postal office. This small grouping is obtained directly from the veterans family.
More to follow => detailed information, for certain a novum for my humble collection as i never tought (and cerainly never trusted a Kurland cufftitle as offered on most dealers webpages) i would own a Kurland. But hey => here it is alive and well and i am the first one to have it after the person who received it
Needles to say => me very happy
Cordial greetings,
ps: more to follow (can take a while)

Hello,
I am working on a article (or small booklet) about the award documents from the Cholmschield, it will be pure and solely about these documents and therefore i have a question for the readers.
Iff you have a original award document from teh Cholmschield in your collection and you are interested to see that document added in the article, then feel free to contact me.

Hello,
Thank you Rick for your information, anyone elso who can say something about this?
I have seen a colourtable from shoulderboards where there was one drawn withs such a red insignia, there it does say that it depicts regiments. However that i do not believe. In the case of the red one it says => nr. 13.
This person was from sept. 1943 towatds the end of the war active in the 13./G.R.407
So as far as i do see it now, i beliebe 13. Kompanie was tracable through this red stripe, any other comments?

Hello,
I will receive the following shoulderboard (Infanterie - Oberfeldwebel) within the next few days from the weaers family togheter with a few other bits and bobs.
What is the meaning however from the red cloth piece between the 2 rankinsignia?
This shoulderboard did belong towards a former Oberfeldwebel that did belong towards the Gren.Regt. 407 and who survived the Kurland battle, etc ...
Looking forward towards your opinions.

Hello,
Well that is a nice photoalbum for sure, and that one picture with that sign is certainly in somewhere shot in Flanders Fields.
That sign "In den Ondank" is still a rather popular cafe name where i do live in old Flanders, there is even an old cafe (approx. 3 km.) from my door still with this very name

Very nice and interesting thread about beautifull enamel work !!, just love.
I have also a little bar on its way with one of these thingy's on, is it possible to identify who did produce the Albrechtorden simply by looking at its characteristics ?

Hello,
Very nice medal bar, and i just love the combination !!! , Germany in relation with Belgium.
That belgian order of Leopold I looks like a real gold piece and a older version IMHO, could you post a close up on this order ?

Hello,
Nice award documents, i especially like the 1921 dated one from Chris, very nice.
It is said that from the date of 1 april 1921 the awardings continued to be awarded through the "Grosskanzleramt" (from that date it was a part of the Staatsministerium des ?ussern") and the award documents did bear the nice second seal.
In the latest BDOS mag. (nr.42) there is rather nice article that does deal with the after war awardings of these crosses !!!

Hello,
Thank you for the reply's, well Privetera was rather correct with his dates, she did earn :
28.03.1941 : Iron Cross 2 nd. class
05.11.1942 : Iron Cross 1 th. class
I guess with these photos we will know for sure wich type of pilots badge she is wearing but is fun to be able to at least name 2 types of pilots badges who do come close towards the one pictured.
Anyone any other pictures from Frau Reitsch in his collection with this combination of awards?
Cordial greetings,

Hello,
Here is another close up from here pilots badge.
Cordial greetings,
ps: anyone does care to make a guess on what producer this badge was made from?, without ever being sure i would think to be it a B & N L badge.

Hello,
The title of this thread may seem confusing but it does cover completely what the main issue is here, namely : Flugkapit?n Hanna Reitsch
This excellent pilot (both glider and non glider related) had multiple wordl records on here name and she was passionated by flying above all.
I received a set of 4 pictures from a close friend in the mail today, they alle do show Frau Reitsch when on a visit on a German airfield (not exactly dated), i am however pretty sure that we can place a date on these pictures simply by the awards worn by this litle "large " lady
She is seen wearing :
* pilots badge
* Ribbon for the iron cross 2 nd. class.
Now lets shoot those answers and get a date

Hello,
Thank you both fine gentlemen for the reactions => i also like it very much and i do propose to learn who this recipient was, etc ... and lets kick off with the picture as found in his Wehrpass.
We do see our Oberfeldwebel in full award dress and look how nicely the war merit cross does shine on his breast besides the Infantery Assault badge.
More to follow ...
