    1. Hello,

      Does anyone have acces to Ancestry over here? I do need some help in regards to a German Officer (Dr.). His file or information should most probably be listed over there.

      Please drop me a PM when you can help in this case.

      Cordial greetings and thanks in advance

      Ps: if this thread is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it mr. Moderator :).

    2. Hello

      Here is a Observerbadge that came out of the woodwork a few weeks ago. Can anyone comment on the badge in regards on originality?

      As far as i know this should be a unmarked Juncker piece. Is that correct or not quite? All opinions are welcome.

      The badge is silver - but heavely patinated. Meanwhile it is cleaned with a mild soapsolution. More pictures will follow. :)

      Cordial greetings

    3. Hello Guys,

      Thank you. Indeed three awards (for normal soldiers) for valor. A combination not so often found. I think there is a large chance that this soldier was actually part of the I.R. 96, as that regiment was composed out of parts of for example Reuss and Sachsen-Altenburg. But that is a guess offcoarse :).

      Both silver medals appear to be early award pieces.

      Cordial greetings,

    4. Hello,

      Here is a newly arrived medalbar from a brave soldier (most probably non commissioned rank). His name remains unknown untill now and he was either a inhabitant from the small dutchy of Reuss or Sachsen-Altenburg. Hence the 2 medals.

      The bar has;

      * EK2

      * Hindenburg Cross

      * Reuss (Silver) medal with Swords

      * Sachsen-Altenburg - SEHO - (Silver) medal, last model

      * Long Service awards (Prussia) - 15 Years

      * Long Service awards - 25 years

      The Sachsen-Altenburg piece is a award piece and with its 933 awards a not so common medal.

      All opinions are more then welcome.

      Cordial greetings,

    5. Hello dear Forumfriends,

      A good friend of mine spotted the medalgrouping from Lance-Corporal José Moyse DCM at the War & Peace Show in Folksetone at a dealers table. The DCM is marked on the rim " L. CPL. J. MOYSE. BELGIAN ARMY."

      Please keep your eyes open about this grouping, as it was stolen a couple of years ago from the Pegasus museum at Diest/Belgium (http://www.pegasus-museum.be/ )

      If anyone see's is, or knows where it is, is offered this one, etc... please contact us. As we want to bring that grouping back to its origin, namely the museum.

      Thanks in advance,

    6. Hello Chris,

      Thank you. Any idea on where i can find more information (books or online) about this Division during their time at the Western Front?

      As he was wounded he only received his wound badge (black) in april 1918 after the institution of that award. At that time he was already wounded a second time (1916) and shortly afterwards a third time. Find attached his both award certificates.

      Cordial greetings,

    7. Hello Chris & Andy,

      Thanks alot. So my soldier was involved in the battle to take possesion of Dixmude (Diksmuide nowadays). According his Militärpass he was involved in;

      * Schlacht an der Yser: 18.10.-30.11.14 => the above named info is about this part.

      Any idea on the following (exact) places the Division was during the underneath period?

      * Stellungskämpfe a.d. Yser: 1.12.14-25.5.16

      Attached for you is his award document for his Iron Cross 2 nd class. Awarded on 22 December 1914.

      Cordial greetings,
